New Music: Monica – Everything

Exclusive new music from the R&B Diva, Monica titled “Everything”. I listened to this track 3 times and I LOVE IT! Finally, Mo is back to revive R&B!

If you think the backing track sounds familiar, it’s because “Everything” uses a sample from Deniece Williams’ soulful hit “Silly”.

Just a few minutes ago, I received word from Monica that “Everything” will be the next single off Mo’s new album, ‘Still Standing’ which is slated for a March, 2010 release! The label was planning to go with “One In A Lifetime” until they saw the reaction that “Everything” received from her fans. “The label couldn’t ignore it,” said Monica.

“People want to hear me sing,” said Mo. “They do not want to hear any gimmicks They don’t want what everybody else is doing. Ever since I was 12-years-old I’ve just been singing. That’s really all I know.”

I watch Monica’s show weekly and was quite upset that everyone thought this song should not lead the album. I love this song. And Monica you were correct when you said some of your fans were insulted when you released the lable choice of a single last time.

Let this be the first single people are tired of the same thing playing over and over. Shake, Jump, grind, move, up down ahhh yall get it.. Todays music is more geared toward men and what they want to see sex, sex and more sex. Women have more depth and the last thing I like see all the time is someone poppin they cootie cat in my face on a regular.

ohh yeah I am long winded… I hated the song birthday sex no I dont want sex for my birthday.. I want dinner, music and diamonds.. Sing about that. Music only generates for a limited time this era. And if this continues to happen Black People (cause no other race) will loose in the industry in the long run.

I’m so tired of people wanting to hear good music but when someone puts one out they say it’s not what’s hot right now. wtf. So Swagg Surfin is good music now? As for the most I love Monica. Believe it or not I still jam to her first two cd’s (Miss Thang & The Boy is Mine). I am rooting for her she has an AMAZING VOICE and with the right PR MAYBE she can become the Whitney of our generation because SHE HAS THE POTENTIAL.

I am mid-30’s and fully engulfed in pop-culture/music/these blogs n ish…but honestly most ppl my age (that I personally know) don’t keep up with this stuff. They may hear something on the radio & like it, but I can really count on one hand the number of ppl I know (in my age bracket & older) who actually support the artist they like…CD’s come from the CD MAN…at best they go to a concert.

And I agree Monica has the potiental to fill the void Whitney left behind that this generation has yet to understand or see. For Monica she tried to stay popular and with todays music and it did not work for her at all. I believe children and adults will accept more from artist if given more.

I bought ONE cd of MJB and it was good but I just can’t get into her for some reason. She has plenty of great songs but I can’t stan for her like most folks. I like SANGERS without the added stuff. Beyonce can really sing but when she does all the runs I cringe!! Same for Fannie. Jhud has a great voice to me. Monica has ALWAYS been great to me. Even Sideline Ho. Sorry! Everyone is entitled to their opinion and i respect urs. But most people when they hear this song are like WOW! But like Monica says, everybody is not gonna like everything. I just respect her for putting out a record she is 100% about. I respect her even more for putting out a record thats UNLIKE anything on radio and takin a chance. Im kinda with the label, it is an old song. But a GREAT song.

At the end of the day, Im just happy Monica is happy and Im getting a new cd. This Monica era has been awesome. She has done a GREAT job establishing the BRAND, Still Standing. I think her cd will sell, just not sure what this song will do.

I LOVE this song. I have since I heard it on the show. My Husband and I both said that this should be the lead. IT is beautiful and I think even the youngins mught feel this one. I feel guilty even commenting. I’m so not a Monica music fan. I like a couple of her old joints, but mostly her music misses the mark for me. I don’t like this song. I love the new song and can’t wait for the new CD to drop!!! I still listen to her last CD a few times a week.I know one thing I hope and pray that the song *Thirsty/SugarDaddy* makes the CD.
