Actress and former First lady of Turks & Caicos, LisaRaye was gracious enough to grant Sandrarose.com an exclusive interview with her while she was in town for the Trumpet Awards last weekend.
The interview with LisaRaye took place in her swanky hotel suite at the Hyant Grand Regency in downtown Atlanta. She looked gorgeous in a floor length off white feathered gown custom made for LR by a local L.A. designer (I’ll post his name in a minute).
LisaRaye talked candidly about her ex-husband, former Premier of Turks & Caicos Michael Misick:
Had my husband… sat down and communicated with me, and said to me ‘this is what’s going on. I don’t know how I got myself into this mess. I need your help, I need your support. Can you help me figure it out’… With my swagger? Because I was married. We were one. So you supposed to be the ride or die.. as the wife, yes, you hear some mess about rape… and it happened in the house… she was a young girl. I’m thinking about my daughter. As your wife, yes, I’m pissed at you! Give me that!
LisaRaye also discussed her daughter’s schooling in Europe and why she didn’t pay her tuition after Misick pulled his support. She talked about the drama with Vivica A. Fox who was in her wedding:
When you’re friends with someone there’s stories that you share that I believe that you keep between the two of you no matter what happen. That’s your friend and you’re supposed to go down to the grave with those stories.
LisaRaye touches on her new reality show, the ‘Cougar thing’, her foundation, her new book deal and a movie that she’s producing.

On her husband: If he would’ve told her from jump then she’d been down with him. SOmething about he has 30k people backing him in Turks and how she has 30k in Southside Chicago alone doing the same.
On her daughter: It was his idea to send her daughter to school. She(the kid) showed up at her door one day and was hurt. They are now bonding in LA now..code for I can’t afford to pay for school.

I was so upset when my daughter called home and informed me what happened I said baby come on your plane ticket is ready, its not the end of the world. Being involved in that marriage took a toll on my finances. I could not afford the tuition because it was pricey. We all start over sometimes.

Ok so after watching the interview, what is so ghetto about her? I think she is very animated and just seems like she is being her. She actually is very well spoken, she has an accent but she is from Chicago, that’s how they talk.

Comparing her and Michelle O is so not fair. Michelle went to Princeton and Harvard and is a professional woman. Of course she is polished. Lisa raye is a hood chic turned good (for lack of a better way to put it) so putting it in perspective, yes I think she did good.

LisaRaye has had years of having a moderately high income and if she were interested would have buffed her rough edges up, but she’s seems too concerned about her “swagger” (her words) to actually get some actual substance. I don’t expect her to speak several world languages or understand all cultures, but dang can she actually get a good command of her first (only) language? Can we actually look at her and hear her and think classy, rather than her having to remind her of her alleged grace and elegance.
If she was carrying on like this, no wonder NOBODY in Turks & Caicos liked her.
As for her husband, he’s no different that most other politicians worldwide, but he’s not the one sitting in the white plumage talking to Sandra.

Actually Lisa brought that up. She basically said, “Michelle is cool and all, but she don’t look like me.” She’s said that time and time again out loud for people to hear. But you are right it is not fair to Mrs. Obama who is also from the south side of Chicago, is a professional educated woman who has been married to the same gorgeous, intelligent uber successful man for many years to be mentioned in the same breath as this superficial hood rat. Yes, I totally agree that was not fair. I for one don’t expect dignity and class from this woman.
With that said, Miss LisaRaye needs to lower her standards. She can’t expect to get the same kind of man Michelle can pull. She needs to get herself a wealthy drug dealer like her mama did. It worked for mama and it can work for her too.

Exactly @ Bird she is a hood chic, I never said she wasn’t. So knowing that, I expected what she gave. I am comparing her to other hood chics NOT Michelle O or Jackie O (the real one) and compared to lets say a Fantasia, Tiny, Toya, Ne ne etc. Yes she does speak well. I am holding her to the lane she is in not world leaders.
