The Miami Heat introduced their new free agent acquisitions, LeBron James (from Cleveland) and Chris Bosh (from Toronto), during a splashy, over-the-top Las Vegas style extravaganza called “HEAT Summer of 2010 Welcome Event” at the American Airlines Arena yesterday.
The team also announced Dwyane Wade’s new 6-year contract. The Super Friends were handed the keys to the city and showered with confetti as they made their grand entrance into the jam packed American Airlines Arena.
The Heat unveiled the new team slogan “YES.WE.DID” — although they haven’t actually done anything yet.
This video is just a little something to make the Cleveland fans smile and take their minds off the fact that their team won’t make the playoffs for the next 5 years.
Team jerseys and t-shirts featuring James’ #6 went on sale at the Miami Heat store yesterday and were quickly snapped up by delirious fans. Though season tickets are sold out, the Heat front office announced they were accepting deposits at $100 per seat just to be placed on a waiting list in case season ticket holders turn in their tickets. Good luck with that though.
Season ticket holders can make a killing by putting their season tickets up for grabs on Craigslist or eBay. Before LeBron announced he would sign to Miami, season ticket prices were available for a measly $3,238.61 per year. Now that price has more than doubled.
Apparently, the Miami Heat only have 3 players for now, since they cleared their roster to make room for the NBA salary cap. But honestly, who doesn’t believe these three guys could beat most NBA teams without any help?
