SI: Chris Bosh to Miami; LeBron James Stays in Cleveland

I’m so tired of all this LeBron James speculation about where he will end up playing. Who cares outside of Cleveland, NY or Chicago?

LeBron James is a big cry baby who shows poor sportsmanship whenever he loses. Too bad he’s not going to the Leakers to join that other cry baby: Kobe Bryant.

Word is that Cleveland’s front office is ready to offer Lebron the moon, plus a historic $1 billion contract, to stay put.

Anyway, the speculation and rampant rumors will end after tomorrow (July 8) when LeBron makes his announcement that he’s staying in Cleveland. I can’t wait until tomorrow! Then we can all get on with our lives.

Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have committed to Miami, two league sources confirmed, which leaves LeBron James and Carlos Boozer as the last two big-money free agents on the board.

James plans to announce his decision Thursday night during a one-hour special on ESPN — commercial proceeds to go to the Boys And Girls Clubs of America — with the setting of the announcement suggesting in and of itself that he will re-sign with Cleveland.

James grew up in Akron within an hour’s drive of Cleveland, he has never lived outside the Cleveland area, and his potential departure has been awaited with tremendous apprehension by his native region. If James is planning to leave his hometown, one of the cruelest ways to break the news would be via a one-hour TV special to celebrate his exit. Read More…

Free-agency 2010 has been overhyped. I really thought players were gonna make big moves. It’s obvious Chris Bosh would leave Toronto after they didn’t make the playoffs. Atlanta was the only team dumb enough to give Joe Johnson a max contract when he’s production has gone down. D-Wade won a title with Miami and has a strong relationship with Pat Riley, he wasn’t gonna sign with anybody else. Amare was gonna leave Phoenix if they didn’t make the Finals and/or offer him a max contract and he’s close with Coach Mike D’antoni. Lebron will probably stay in Cleveland. I think he enjoyed all of the tap-dancing and shoe-shining by these White owners just to get him to sign with their team.

I think he chose this so that others would join in and donate as well. “Out of sight out of mind”, so if he mentions it with all the hoopla surrounding his decision he can get others to donate as well…

@ Free, He can’t have a billion dollar contract. No player in any sport can be offered anyway near that amount. There’s a salary cap. The biggest contract in American sports so far has been baseball player Alex Rodriguez’s $250 million for 10 years, signed in 2000.

See, the rest of the Cleveland’s team is garbage though. For a team to win a championship, you need a lot of good players… one great person won’t win by themselves! The Lakers have Kobe–> Great, and a lot of very good guys like Gasol, Artest, Bynum and all.
Lebron can’t do it by himself, he needs to stay in Cleveland and attract all the other good players (i.e Carlos Booser), that’s how he will a Championship, AND preserve his legacy.

Awesome – I’m hoping we can get Boozer and Lee now that LeBron and Chris has pulled an oke doke on Chicago. I don’t see LeBron announcing he’s coming here. My worry is that we’ll only get Lee because LeBron is going to try to get Boozer to sign to Cleveland or whereever he signs. He’s not going to Miami..DWade is bigger than him in the MIA.

That article is just another speculation. I would love for him to stay here, but it is highly unlikely. This is one time I pray I’m wrong.

For him to break the news to us in such an informal way seems like a slap in the face. He should be doing this in Akron or Cleveland.

Chris bosh is so overrated I was so sick of him tweeting about where he was going like anybody cared. He acts like he got close to a championship or MVP or somthing.

I would hate for Lebron to stay with the cavs. That team is all him. He needs a right hand man or something. Old centers.

Why is he even obligated to stay n cleveland because he is born there? That’s like saying MJ should have played in NY cuz he was born there. Or Kobe in Philly because he was born there both way better cities than Cleveland. Lebron needs to play in a bigger franchise.

Kobe is a big cry baby w/5 rings. I don’t think Lebron is worried about money vs chasing a ring. I wish he stays in Cleveland and the coach can build a dream time like the Pistons had back in the day.
