According to producer Kanye West’s tweet over the weekend, his new album cover was banned in the USA.
The cover features a painting of what looks like a black man reclining on a blue chaise lounge while holding a bottle of beer. The man grins leeringly at the viewer while being straddled by a mythological winged creature (that looks suspiciously like a white woman).
“Banned in the USA!!! They don’t want me chilling on the couch with my phoenix!” Kanye wrote on his Twitter page.
But was the cover really banned before the album is even released? Or is this yet another lame attempt by a troubled man to garner more attention than he deserves?
I think I’ll go with the latter.
