According to The Washington Post, Felicia Pearson, 30, who played “Snoop” on HBO’s critically acclaimed TV series, ‘The Wire’, was among more than 30 people swept up in a large-scale heroin and marijuana drug sting.
Isn’t it ironic that as soon as Da Brat comes out, Snoop goes in?
The sting operation involved multiple drug enforcement agencies resulting in drug busts all across the city of Baltimore and its surrounding counties.
Raids were carried out in the pre-dawn hours by agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration, Baltimore police and a slew of other federal and state law enforcement agencies.
Felicia “Snoop” Pearson, known for her drug-assassin character on “The Wire,” was taken into custody at a downtown apartment on a state warrant, officials said.
The actress has a troubled past, having been convicted at age 14 of second-degree murder. More recently, she refused to testify as a witness at a murder trial and was arrested at her then-Northeast Baltimore home.
The arrests are part of a five-month drug investigation, officials said.
She took that role on the wire a little too seriously.

when keeping it real GOES WRONG hell i thought snoop was the brat
Fans of The Wire know that this is who she was before the show. She isn’t an actress. While this is unfortunate, I’m not shocked. #keepyaheadup

Aint this a BISH!!!!!?!?!?!
After I just sat here two days ago and SWORE Kingston, Candi & Alex up-and-damn-DOWNNNNNN that everything/everybody in Baltimore was NOT like it was portrayed on “The Wire,” this simple idiot bish gon’ go and make me eat my words!!!
Stupid, dumb, ho!! Spend that HBO money and shut the eff up! Still selling drugs and living in poor azz Northeast AFTER being on HBO for several years- her azz BEEN had enough money to move out to the County at LEAST!!
@Alex, Kingston, Candi
I want to modify my statement- everything in Bmore is NOT like it was portrayed on “The Wire” except in the case of Snoop’s stupid azz!
SMDH…

@SASO
Don’t be scaring Candi before her trip to B’More!! You know she’ll cry in the car!
I sawwy Candi. I couldn’t help it!!
Honestly I used to think she was a pretty man..
@Jazi
Naw- “Snoop’s” character on the wire was NOT a character- that was actually HER! She was not acting- was not nary a bit of acting involved…..
I’ve only ever watched one episode of the show though. I’ve lived in Baltimore for my entire life, I didn’t need HBO to reiterate what I saw daily. Why couldn’t they do a POSITIVE show on Bmore? No, no, no….just gotta go reinforce the negative azz, typical azz streotypes. And let’s be real- what goes on here is not ANY different than what goes on in any other urban city in the US. Why single us out for the bullsh*t?
@SASO
But isn’t that what they always do on shows based on black folk?
@Stunnaz
I’ve never seen the wire and I swear that’s what I thought when I saw that pic up there.
Too bad they didn’t have Beyond Scared Straight when she was around 12 or 13.

@Ace,
Why did I think of the same scene! The show went out and I was ready for more, they need to make a movie off of that. See if Mike still trying to run stuff and if Marlo really out the game.
@Alex
Well- it works my damn nerves!! Every documentary they do on Baltimore is SEETHING with negativity. I think HBO or Showtime also did a documentary back in 05/06 on one of our high schools called “Frederck Douglas High”- just shpwing how lackluster the system was and how the young, Black students acted like criminals-in-the-making.
Douglass was actually my ZONE high school, but my mama had enough sense to move from down there so Ic ould be “deported” to another school in a whole ‘nother county right before my 9th grade year started.
Nonetheless- they did that WHOLE damn documentary on that ONE horrible azz high school, and left out the SEVERAL inner city, long-withstanding prestigious, competitive high schools in the inner city- no mention of Poly, Western or City. And also neglected to mention in that WHOLE documentary, that right next to that high school, literally, it’s next-door neighbor is Coppin State University- an HBCU that doesn’t have those porblems with their students.
Pissed.Me.Off.
Hahpo who is this DOS and what they doing round these parts?
@SASO i am from baltimore too and u gotta admit they hit the nail on the head with some aspects of the show at first i thougt it was too negative too but i remember when the crackheads was stealing people plumbing and running the “junk car” scam to the metal shop to get dope money… LOL i did however see the big picture of what the show was trying to portray in how it showed how corruption and limited opportunites and just being plain stupid sometimes force some people to take the wrong paths and i think it ending up showing youngsters aint nothing GLAM about the streets, addiction,drug-dealing, poverty , the hood, etc….. all that stuff leads you to a point of no return
Oh, ahut the fukk up, Jeff.
You’re testing my limits this week and I’m PMS-ing like a muhfukka so I ain’t for your bullsh*t.
Tread lightly, nigga.
I read her book “Grace After Midnight” (or something like that) and it was pretty interesting to say the least. I stopped watching The Wire after the 1st Season. “Stringer Bell” was the ONLY reason I watched in the first place.
for ur info i would only cry if i was lost IN THE HOOD alex hmmph :folds arms across chest:

i feel the same way about treme and new orleans. treme was a little too overdone for my taste but it’s just because i know nola better than that. not being from b’more, it seemed perfect for what the wire was trying to do. but the real reason is that the dude who wrote it originally wrote a book based on baltimore police (and may even be from that area, but i forgot) so he naturally went on and filmed in that location.
@ lex – I remember watching a ‘behind the scenes’ where they were giving a tour of their hood, spots they were arrested at, etc. I knew then the show was going to be good. You can’t get any realer.
@Lex
They could have shown a better way though. I think they kind of glorfied it in a small way. Think about it…..how many times since then have you heard some idiot say something like: “I’m from Bmore- home of “The Wire”! You know how we get down.”
They didn’t show how bad that sh*t could be to the right folks- these fools out here think that portrayal is something to be proud of. And from there you get ignorant, and some plain idiotic folks who really go around thinking that all of Baltimore is JUST like that one show when there are many aspects to it, and the majority doesn’t resemeble that crap one bit.
And what happened in that show in Bmore that is any different that what happens in Brooklyn, Bronx, New Orleans, Jersey City, Philly, parts of Atlanta, Miami, LA, etc? NOTHING.

Other than from the news, I don’t know bout nothing going on in them there parts. Heck, I gotta google to get to the place anyway and I be damned if I sit and purposely google how to get to the bad parts.
I know there are bad parts of ATL. But have I been to them? Hell naw.
@Free
Sometimes- I think they show the grittiest parts of the majorily Black urban cities JUST to make a profit off of the pain and struggling there, and nothing else. It’s sickening. All the up and coming and actually well-to-do folk in and surrounding Bmore (and believe me- there are PLENTY of them, step in Inner Harbor properties and its evident) and they chose to spend several years focusing on the gutter….whatever-thefukk-ever, man.

And the Baltimore police force is crooked as hell! I know that! That’s why they can’t hardly keep a commissioner-changes like the damn wind! But the police forces in NY, MIA & LA are NOTORIOUS for being just as fukkin grimy, if not, more!!
One part I did see was the creator going in on the Mayor (O’Malley) at the time. They were right on with that. But also in comparison, I believe Guiliani/Bloomberg were running mayors in NY during parts of the show and they were just as sneaky and auspicious as O’Malley.
All of them have Black mistresses, O’Malley was just the only one to try to kill his…but, that’s a whole nother story….

Our young brothers and sisters are running with it too. Glorifying Being Hood and a Gangster
@man, i don’t know if the show was meant to be a musical, but that’s how it came off to me. it did do a decent job of touching on how the area was affected post-K but the music just got.on.my.damn.nerves.all.the.time.
like sassy said, i would have liked for them to broaden it and show the politics, the schools, the businesses, etc. i thought it would be more about the rebuilding and revitalization of the city but it was just fixated on the music.
i did only watch each episode once though. my favorite was when the police closed the curtain and beat up the indian chief in the projects. now THAT shit was accurate.

@SASO
But how many people would tune into a show about up and coming well-to-do folk from ANY city?
Most of the viewing public wants drama and bullchit and, right or wrong, the gutter provides that.
Isn’t that why those Housewives shows are so popular? And I’m sure that they don’t represent REAL housewives anywhere. At least I would hope they don’t.

the wire was a little different though. you just have to watch it because it goes into politics, unions, school systems (season 4 is the best), the newspaper and what makes headlines, etc. it was well-done and yes, it stems from wire tapping of the drug trade, but it was intelligently done.

Poor Snoop Puppy Dog. Its a double edged sword. Of course she was very fortunate to luck up on the role of Snoop and I’m sure it was a wonderful few years in her life. Problem is she is not an actor and it was going to be tough for her to move forward in the industry that she had grown accustomed to being a part of. Very few (maybe 1 or 2) of the Baltimore natives from The Wire went on to get other parts, but the real actors have done fairly well for themselves.

I don’t know how much money she made on the show but it would have been a good idea to move from that type of environment or maybe she likes that type of life-style because their are a lot who do no matter how much money they have.
I agree you should see the show. I have the box set and watch that sh*t like once a month.
SASO
Girl, I’ve read enough of your comments to know you are taking it too personally and clearly you are ashamed of the hood life in your city. Thug life was not glorified in this series at all. As popular as Stringer Bell was they killed him because they wanted to keep it real. Drug dealers die. They don’t get to be cute and own businesses and get degrees if they stay in the game. They get dead or they get jail. Stringer was the star. They didn’t give a damn. They showed things that people need to see. I’m happy there are good schools in Baltimore, but those are not the ones that need attention. The schools that are struggling need help. They need solutions. When they took those kids to a halfway decent restaurant after winning a contest in class and the kids had no idea whatsoever how to act in the restaurant that was real. There are kids out there who have struggles with simple things like that.
Don’t be ashamed of those people. Have compasssion for them. They need your help and mentoring, not your scorn to the point that you would shun a show like The Wire just to avoid seeing them or trying to deny the severity of the situation. I know I can’t tell you what to do, but your comments were so raw I had to say something. We all know there are hoods everywhere. No one is looking down on Baltimore because of The Wire.

Why do people get so mad when people display this reality. It’s not like it’s being fabricated. If people wouldn’t do stupid shit, it wouldn’t be abel to be broadcasted. Just tired of people making excuses for negative things and act like everybody’s picking on them when it’s broadcast. We gotta do better
