How sad. Today the blogosphere is gleefully reporting that R&B singer Keyshia Cole’s mom, Frankie Lons, 50, is back behind bars.
This time, she was pulled over by Sandy Springs, GA police yesterday for driving erratically. Lons was arrested for a probation violation that I told you about 2 weeks ago.
During a search of her vehicle, cops found a drug related substance and they tacked possession onto her charges. So far, Keyshia has not commented on these latest charges.
If you recall the last time her mom was arrested, Keyshia tweeted:
“You know, I really pray she gets it together for herself. She has to want to change for herself.”

Addiction is a serious thing and if you are not serious about sobriety, it will not work. You can’t do it for the cameras or anyone else. You have to do it for yourself. I pray she get it together.
This really saddens me because I was rooting for Frankie. I guess she has to want to change on her own and not for a tv show and a dollar. My heart goes out to K Cole because now that her mother has a little fame everything she does wrong gets reported.
I hope Toya is watching (even though I don’t watch that show) because that is your future if your mom isn’t ready…. Then again who is Toya? Keyshia was famous before reality TV.. Carry on

This is sad. We laugh and joke about Frankie, but addiction is no joke. Frankie refuses/ is unable to remove herself the from the stress factors around her. She can not party like she is 25 in the clubs, she can not let the young dudes slide in and out of her because she is KeyCo “mama”. Frankie has to get right with herself because she WANTS to get right with herself. No one can convince her of otherwise.

It’s parents like Frankie that are the root cause of why so many of today’s youth going down the wrong path. She likely was doing crack and other drugs back in the 80s. Many of those same drug users had children, and it’s not surprising why many of them have turned out so bad. Fortunately, Keyshia didn’t let her mom’s ratchedness and drug adddiction hinder her from attaining success.
Hopefully her moms can get the help she desperately needs.

Drug addiction HAS to be a mother f*cker!! I can’t imagine trying to get off of that $hit when I can’t even get off of chicken.
On the one hand, you have to feel bad for people who can’t kick a drug addiction, but on the other hand… can you feel sorry for someone who made a conscious decision to use drugs, knowing the end result?
I mean, at this point in the game, drugs should have phased themselves out – how can there be NEW crack/meth addicts? Who are the people who see that crack is wack, but decides, “I gots to have some of that?”

Frankie’s problem is denial. Clearly she’s been on some $hit for years and it’s crazy to see her deny it and consistently say, “I’ve only used alcohol” – WTF? I thought the first step to recovery was admitting that you have a problem.
Keyshia gave this broad an opportunity to come from $hit to sugar… at this point, I agree with Keyshia FRANKIE has to want it.
Here’s to hoping that she’ll get it. Frankie is smart as hell if you really listen to her, the addiction is stupid, not her.
