Al Sharpton’s mother Ada Sharpton passed away in the early morning hours today. Sharpton announced his mother’s passing on his Twitter.com social account today.
His spokeswoman says Ada Sharpton died early Thursday morning in Dothan, Ala., following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
Rachel Noerdlinger says Sharpton will fly to Alabama to make arrangements for his mother’s funeral after attending a rally Thursday evening in Sanford, Fla., for Trayvon Martin. Source
Despite his personal grief, Sharpton tweeted that he was on a plane heading to central Florida to go ahead with his plans to attend a rally for Trayvon Martin, the youth who was gunned down by a racist neighborhood watch person last month.
The rally has been moved to Mellon Park in Sanford, Florida at 7pm due to “overwhelming demand” Sharpton tweeted.

He at least needs to be properly questioned. Of course, with all the violations of proper investigative procedure that have occurred the truth will never be known unless Zimmerman decides to tell the truth. Which he will never DO!
The police failed to perform even basic procedures and now the city claims they were not legally allowed to take Zimmerman into custody. Apparently it’s against the law if the person in question is “of unquestionable character” and Zimmerman claims he did nothing wrong.
Wow. I’m just speechless here. Are they honestly saying that all you have to do is say “You can’t arrest me – *I* am of unquestionable character!” and you can do whatever the blankity-blank you want?!? In this case it looks like Iza can off Zimmerman and get away with it at this point! That’s the way it seems thus far.
This is just getting more and more insane. At this point, it doesn’t matter what happens to Zimmerman here (or does it) – the larger, more disturbing, issues are at the city and maybe even state level.
In an apparent CYA move, the mayor made an official statement, saying he had no confidence in the police chief, and the police chief is supposedly going to step down.
However this seems way too little way too late. The shooting happened how long ago, and yet the police chief and mayor did nothing until AFTER the FBI got involved? Do they realize how MESSED up their city has to be to have the FBI take on what is clearly a LOCAL murder case?!? And why haven’t we heard from the city attorney general, or even the governor or the state’s attorney general? They apparently ignored this as well if it went all the way to the FBI.
I’m still waiting for the Martin family to launch its big fat lawsuit against the city. Cuz now blood is on the Police Chiefs hands! PERIOD!
