I don’ mean to be a stick in the mud but instead of wasting 10,000 on a funeral that you can easily do for a couple thousand, that money could be used for people who are still alive and NEED IT. 10,000 is such a waste of money to put someone in the ground.

Funerals are highly expensive. This is why life insurance is so importatnt. My best friend’s father died in April and I helped her plan his funeral. They gave us a packet with prices. It’s $8K to cremate a body!!!
Her dad was buried for free in a military cemetary and his funeral was still $10K. If he had been buried in a regular cemetary, the vault fee was $900 alone.
And unfortunately I myself have had to plan several funerals for family members and have never had to spend more than 2-3 thousand tops. I think alot of the funds spent on funerals are spent on extravagance and not necessity.
RIP…but yet again we have a situation where someone doesn’t have insurance…sad

Good morning roses…sad that she has passed.
I agree 10K is a lot. Just came from my father inlaw’s funeral. His would have cost a total of 4K if my husband and his siblings had not gotten a discount. And my father inlaw didn’t have insurance either. It’s all about what you want done in the funeral. We chose not to have the family limo because it was extra. All we needed was a basic service. Nothing extravagant.

Prayers for the family… Funeral homes/death is a business do not be conned to believe funerals are expensive.. return to the dusk from which you came!!!

people, please get life insurance. pass on the restaurant food 2 days month, which is killing you anyways, and purchase a policy to bury yourself. MY recommendation is that you have life insurance outside of your job’s plan so there’s never a break in coverage (quit, fired, etc).

Why don’t our people get life insurance? Don’t put your family in this type of situation after you have passed. It is hard enough on the family to deal with loosing a loved one. Then to have to deal with finances during this difficult time is very troubling for families. It is cheaper than medical insurance most of the time.
