Oprah turns 60

TV mogul Oprah Winfrey is turning 60 next month. The Diva is preparing for her major milestone with a bodacious new cover for the January 2014 issue of O magazine.

Oprah appears twice on the whimsical cover, wearing oversized hair rollers and a gorgeous gold lamé gown in before and after shots by celebrity photographer Ruven Afanador.

“I’m alive. Healthy. Strong. I’m turning 60,” Oprah says. “And – please don’t take offense – I no longer have to be concerned about what anyone thinks of me! I’m turning 60, and I’ve earned the right to be just as I am. I’m more secure in being myself than I’ve ever been.”

Oprah, who was born January 29, 1954 in Kosciusko, MS, said her biggest achievement in life is overcoming her many adversities.

“Never shutting my heart down. Even in my darkest moments – through sexual abuse, a pregnancy at 14, lies and betrayals – I remained faithful, hopeful, and open to seeing the best in people, regardless of whether they were showing me their worst.”

“I stayed open to believing that no matter how hard the climb, there is always a way to let in a sliver of light to illuminate the path forward,” she added.

Umm Sandra, you do realize in this world there are folk that are meant to be business woman/men and there are people who are meant to be the support system for those such people. That is not to say the 9-5ers are less driven than those who have their own businesses. Some people like a cushion or safety net so to speak.

You can be a boss and still have that 9-5 with benefits. Some people have their side hustles along with that 9-5. Don’t take a leap on faith without having a solid back up plan. Esp in this economy. Cuz when the shyt fails, starting from the bottom ain’t as easy. Trust.

Stepping out on faith is a BOLD move and yes you should have a plan B. However sometimes its just meant to walk out on faith. I did and made 20gs more than I did prior.
