Last night’s episode of BET’s original scripted TV series Being Mary Jane starring Gabrielle Union set Twitter.com on fire. The pilot drew 4 million viewers last May, and the season re-launch has gained respectable numbers so far. Both male and female viewers are drawn to Union’s strong portrayal of news anchor Mary Jane Paul, who seems to have it all. But she has flaws that the average viewer can relate to. Some critics voice their disappointment with Mary Jane’s weakness for married men. They question why Mary Jane can’t date single men like the sluts in TV’s Sex And The City.
In the opening scene of last night’s episode of Being Mary Jane, we see Mary resting her head in the lap of Andre Daniels (Omari Hardwick). It isn’t until they are interrupted by Mary’s drug addicted brother, Patrick (Richard Brooks), that it becomes apparent Mary was servicing Andre, who has a wife and children at home.

I like this show. I think the acting overall is pretty good (though it’s not a stretch for Gabby), and I’ve been missing scripted tv. Yes, I get that ppl are upset about the 2 popular “Black” shows feature adulterers, but hey– it’s real life for some folks.

This is how I remember him from Comic View…just picking on audience members…talking about their suit, their jheri curl…I thought he should have actually come with some PREPARED material.
I can’t with this show. I tried two weeks in a row and just can’t. The scene with her giving dude head was to much. Then the scene where he was eating her out was to much! I’m done. There is no real plot or story line. Not interested!

the show really isn’t interesting though. Mara Akil, the creator’s, banking on its success based on sex scenes and GU’s name. Last night’s episode was so boring. Luckily for them, nothing else comes on Tuesday nights, so they’ll stay on the air. You best believe BET knows not to move this show to Thursday or even Wednesday because network tv has plenty of good shows on these nights that others will watch instead.
Gabrielle can’t act. She just can’t. Her look, her sound, her facial expressions are the same from one project to the next. And Omari’s sexy as hell. I wonder what guy he’s dating.
@60 see, that’s what I thought too, she was asleep in his lap and then for a second Omari moved and I was like is she….even still she wasn’t convincing at all. She has convinced me, with her one dimensional style acting, that she has phucked the brakes off somebodies to have made a name for herself.
