Super Bowl #3 hero Joe Namath wore an obnoxious fur coat hoodie for the coin toss prior to the kick off of Super Bowl 48 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on Sunday. The legendary NY Jets quarterback sparked outrage, first from Super Bowl fans for botching the coin toss, then from PETA and furious animal lovers who were offended by Namath’s ostentatious display of arrogance.
TOO many. RT @a_ryan88 Yo @peta, how many animals died to make Joe Namath's fur coat?
— PETA (@peta) February 3, 2014
PETA also tweeted an image of a pile of skinned animals with the message, “FYI @RealJoeNamath: Here’s the REST of your fur coat.”
See what others had to say about Namath’s fur hoodie.
OK, who wore it better: Macklemore, Joe Namath or the IKEA monkey? #SB48 #SuperBowl pic.twitter.com/tSqkycy1nx
