A South Korean woman makes over $9,000 USD a month just by eating a 4 course meal in front of her webcam.
Park Seo-Yeon, 33, who quit her day job, begins eating her hours long meal at 8 p.m. every night as thousands of fans tune in online. Park, whose online handle is “the Diva,” devours her meal slowly while entertaining her fans with good-humored banter between bites.
From Breitbart.com:
Park said she makes about $9,300 each month from generous fans who donate to keep her channel running.
Park said her fans give various reasons for wanting to watch her eat.
“A lot of my viewers are on diets and they say they live vicariously through me, or they are hospital patients who only have access to hospital food so they also watch my broadcasts to see me eat,” she said.
Park said about 60 percent of her viewers are female.
“One of the best comments I ever received from a viewer who said that she had gotten over her anorexia by watching me eat,” Park said. “That really meant a lot to me.”
Officials with Afreeca TV, which hosts Park’s evening meal video stream, said her channel is one of many “eating rooms” available on the site.
“We think it’s because of three big reasons — the rise of one-person households in Korea, their ensuing loneliness and finally the huge trend of ‘well-being culture’ and excessive dieting in Korean society right now,” Afreeca TV spokeswoman Serim An said.

Odd… Morning FuturedocdDonte and Sandra thanks for the sunday post.
Ms. Rose.
Morning.
I am Slim & Trim so . . . I wouldn’t mind having that job as I LOVE to Eat, 2!!!
I won’t tune in or click her channel, but I get it. It’s another example of turning a simple idea into a source of revenue. I think many people probably think something is useless or silly and continue working their 9-5 ball and chain job. And then you have others who capitalize off simple, everyday things, case in point. Eating dinner everyday and she’s making money off letting people watch her do it while she tells jokes. They didnt TEACH any of us that in college.
Sandra, do you miss being a photographer? Would you go back to that over having your blog? Finally, is the blog as successful as you could’ve imagined? Many of us remember the site as the place to come to see photos of events. If the radio announced an event, everybody knew to check SR the next day for photos. And then one day, it was a blog, and here were are.
The one thing I do know in any idea grand or small, you have to build your audience. The greatest idea in the world will start with a small audience. You have to grow or expand that core audience.
The food, does not look appetizing.
I don’t understand why someone would want to watch this but ok……….. Anyway good hustle. 9 grand a month is nothing to sneez at! I should film myself cleaning house. Maybe someone will pay to watch that! Social media has become a way for ordinary folk to become celebrities. If someone can capitalize on that I say way to go!
YouTube is the business! I can watch someone make food but I can’t watch someone eat food. I subscribe to Jazzy Rachel on YouTube and she has lots of advertisements so she is getting paid. She offers make-up, hair and fashion tips, how to cook collard greens all from her cell phone.

I don’t miss the photography. I do miss nursing, though. I miss interacting with the patients and their families. The blog started out as a platform to display my photos. But Hannah Kang (GM Grand Hustle) and Jay Reid (formerly of Bad Boy South) encouraged me to start a blog and put ads on my blog. At the time I had a website with a static HTML page with no comments. So, yeah, the blog is 10x more successful than I ever imagined.
