Newly single singer Ciara took Us Weekly magazine to task for manipulating her words to suggest that she’s “very, very happy” after breaking up with oversexed rapper Future Hendrix.
In a message posted to her official Twitter page last night, Ciara reminded Us Weekly that a recent interview with the mag’s beauty editor was about her appearances on television’s Degree Women and MTV’s House of Style — not her split from the prolific rapper.

“I’m in a much more clairvoyant place in my life,” Ciara, 28, told Us of motherhood. “So, I want to express that through my music.” The singer, who will appear on MTV’s House of Style for Degree Women, further mused.
“I’m in an even more expressive place,” she said. “I think that when you become a mom… you don’t really worry about the small stuff. I’m just way more centered. It makes you focus even more on what your goals are in life. And I just feel a whole new spiritual energy that’s happening.”
According to a source, Ciara was “devastated” after learning of her fiance’s betrayal. “He cheated on her,” the insider said. “Game Over.”
Despite her recent trials, the R&B still counts her abundant blessings, especially as a proud mom to her 3-month-old baby. “My son has been the best thing that has happened in my life,” Ciara told Us of Future Zahir, born in May. “He has been amazing and he is truly heaven-sent. And so, I just feel all that love.”
She added that parenthood has fueled her to be even more diligent about her career. “I want to be one of those moms and women that when I look back, I know that I always stayed focused,” she explained. “It’s about keeping your eyes on the prize. Before I had a child, I had goals. And I still have to accomplish those goals, but now that I have a child, I have more goals to accomplish. So I can’t waste time. I have to go for it.” She added, “It’s actually pushing me harder, and forward.”
“It’s a great thing,” she said of motherhood. “I wouldn’t trade it for the world, and I’m very, very happy.”
