CNN Anchor Don Lemon apologized for offending viewers who objected to his inappropriate rape advice during an interview with a woman who accused Bill Cosby of rape.
During the interview with Joan Tarshis, Lemon, who is openly gay, suggested that Tarshis should have bitten down on Cosby’s penis when he allegedly forced her to perform oral sex on him.
“I didn’t even think of it,” said Tarshis, who seemed taken aback by Lemon’s suggestion.
Lemon, 48, responded to the public backlash this morning on CNN.
“A word about my interview last night with Cosby accuser Joan Tarshis: As I am a victim myself, I would never want to suggest that any victim could have prevented a rape. If my question struck anyone as insensitive, I am sorry as that is certainly, and was not, my intention.”
