According to the NY Daily News, a food service worker at a Baltimore-area Checkers Restaurant was videotaped using a hamburger bun to wipe the floor. She then dressed the bun with special sauce, pickles, lettuce and tomatoes.
A male employee is heard off-camera using profanity.
Amazingly, Checkers later claimed the employees were only joking, and they claim the sandwich was never served to a customer.
Instead of terminating the employees for unprofessional behavior on the job, Checkers created their own video explaining why the children misbehaved.
“I, like you, am appalled and disappointed by what I saw in that video,” said Lori Malcolm, Checkers’ senior vice president of human resources.
“We spoke to the employee in the video and her mother, and the employee is very sorry and embarrassed about what happened.”
I guess it’s easier to make the employee apologize than to hire and train a new employee?
EDIT: I watched the Lori’s video in it’s entirety. The employees were terminated. She should’ve said that in the beginning.

This is always in the back of my mind. I pretty much only eat out from fast food restaurants if I can go in and can watch the person make my food.
Besides here in TX its all latinos working on stolen SS numbers.. My former neighbor told me when he was a FF manager he they rarely hired teens or Americans period cause they didnt want to work around Teenagers school schedules ( no wonder our youth unemployment rate is so high) and citizens know their rights so they cant do stuff to them like not paying OT or making them do work off the clock..

We all came thru the ranks of working fast food. Because I was taught to throw it away when it hits the floor, wash my hands in hot water and soap, and turn away from the table if you cough, it was easier for me to adapt in restaurant environments. I can honestly say I never coughed on or did anything disgusting while handling sm1’s food cuz my mom would kick my ass for that. How you act at home is how you act in public is what I always believed.

I worked at a fast food restaurant for one day in high school. I watched kids accidentally drop whole trays of buns on the floor and pick them up. If the buns looked clean they made sandwiches with them.
I think that’s the best option. You don’t have to worry about people sweeping the floor with your food.

if you have a bachelors degree while working cashier at mcdonalds, then what the heck was their major. something went wrong. im a college grad (associates, start bachelors in fall) and i wait tables, but at least i make 120-160 a day not 7/25 hr.
I know plenty of college grads not working in their field. Some work fast food, wait tables, substitute teach whatever it takes to make an honest living to pay Sallie Mae. Many times it’s nothing the graduate did other than live in a particular area. ?
Everyone cant be A computer science major or logistics engineer or even a nurse..

It dont sell, they put it in cooler and re-display that chit til it’s sold.? Also, they only clean the Ice Dream machine once a month. Take off the nozzles of soda machine it has slimy green mold. Cause it’s wet all day and night.

just seen this, my “degree” is PreNursing. im only employable to draw blood pretty much. make more at restaurant. I know the job field can be rough and i dont expect to walk out college with a job, my argument is that i would hope to work somewhere thats a little higher than a mcdonalds type job. at my restaurant alone it filled with so many college grads including one thats pursuing a PH.D but with sallie mae etc its rough out. i get it

Forgive me. Your previous statement seemed to reflect a difference in having a degree, not working in your field, but in fast food, and your circumstances…degreed, waiting tables, but getting paid more.
Not saying this is you: I have come across and heard so many people who have gone into nursing talk about what they wouldn’t do or believe because they are degreed they are better than the NA’s, techs, and even environmental services that assist them. Nursing is not about the money. It is not for everyone. Too many people go into that field and lack compassion, empathy, and the desire to continue their education for the field. If a PORTION of these nurses who are charged to take care of people got the same treatment to their loved ones or to themselves that they themselves “provided”, it would be an entirely different story. (…and scene)

While in high school, I got a part time job at Taco Bell.
One day, the fry-cook dropped an entire pot of ground beef on the floor. The pan flipped over, upside down and all of its contents splattered accross the floor.
When the cook asked the manager what he should do, the manager told him to “scoop the meat up and put it back in pan.”
I’ve eaten at checkers maybe twice in my life. Their food is not so bad. After watching this, I will never step foot in a checkers restaurant ever again. #Gross

I applied with children filet and it’s a grueling hiring process. I’ve must of interviews about four times with different people and you go to a of these classes before you start.They explained it was to find top candidates. They make more money in revenue than McDonald’s believe it or not too even though there’s a McDonald’s on every corner.
Dunk RAW chicken. ..in the SAME pickle juice…Over and over. And leave that pickle juice out for DAYS. It doesn’t get refrigerated.
That is what they marinate ALL chicken in. Grilled. Fried. It gets soaked in pickle juice first. SAME Juice that had raw chicken in it yesterday.

Egg-phuckin-zackly. I’m a college dropout and still ain’t comfortable doing that chit. Like there comes a time in life when you gotta do other chit. It’s sad though, there’s 40+ year old managers, no wonder why those bishes are so bitter. Some folks stick with that cause that’s all they know. Chit I just got off, that is not the life. And it’s funny, there’s just as much drama there as everywhere else.
