Lamar Odom’s internal organs are shutting down one by one. The former NBA star suffered acute renal failure, which means his kidneys are unable to remove waste and toxins from his blood.
The 35-year-old former NBA star was found unresponsive by 2 prostitutes at the Love Ranch brothel in Las Vegas on Tuesday. A 911 caller described Odom as “not breathing.” A 2nd caller to 911 described pink, frothy foam escaping from Odom’s nose and mouth. A sign that he may have inhaled fluid from his stomach into his lungs after vomiting.

Odom is on life support and listed in critical condition at a Las vegas hospital.
The NY Daily News quoted a source who said, “They were worried about his kidneys. They were failing today, but they gave him dialysis. His doctors think he could be OK. He is still critical, in ICU. So, anything can happen.”
A dialysis machine does the work of the kidneys by filtering the blood and removing waste and toxins. Being on dialysis is not a sign of improvement. It is simply a process to take over a bodily function. Just like a ventilator takes over breathing for people who are unable to breathe on their own.
According to gossip tabloid TMZ, doctors give Odom a 50/50 chance of survival.
Meanwhile, Odom’s friends and associates are outraged at the media for putting the focus on Odom’s brief life with the KarTRASHians rather that on Odom’s NBA achievements.
Texas rapper Bun B tweeted his disgust at HLN’s Nancy Grace for referring to Odom as “A Kardashian reality star.”
Bun B tweeted: “Word… F–k his NBA career right Nancy Grace? He has a goddamn nam. Lamar Odom. Vultures.”

He added: “2 time NBA champion reduced to a reality show star. Nothing wrong with reality show people but he has RINGS.”

ESPN sportscaster Scott Van Pelt also took issue with the media’s obsession with the trashy reality stars.
“Kardashian reality star? No. No, no, no,” Van Pelt said. “Lamar Odom, unlike those for whom fame is oxygen, who’s fame comes in the absence of accomplishment, his fame was earned. As Sixth Man Of The Year, as a multiple NBA champion. As the result of his significant role of the Los Angeles Lakers teams and being a beloved NBA teammate and peer. I understand not everyone watches sports, but Kardashian reality star? His name is Lamar Odom. And we knew him long before he got married on a reality show we don’t watch.”
