Singer/songwriter Chris Brown is is not perfect, and he’s man enough to admit he is flawed.
Brown was involved in a long-term relationship with his then-girlfriend Karrueche Tran when he knocked up a groupie during a one night stand.
Karrueche might have forgiven Brown (for being a man) if it weren’t for the fact that the groupie — Nia Guzman — was her best friend.
In an interview with Hot 97’s effervescent Nessa, Chris Brown said he won’t change his style of humping music because he’s a father now. “That’s how my daughter was made,” he laughed.
You can definitely see Brown’s growth and maturity during the interview. He said the birth of his daughter, Royalty, inspired him to name his album after her, and to slow down his whoring ways.
“Growth to me is, I think is more me kinda like trying to understand what makes me so mad about a situation. And then when you understand that you have no control of anybody else’s situation, or whether you do something horrible or do something positive, you just have to stay with yourself and be true to yourself.”
He continued: “You don’t necessarily have to like somebody, but the respect factor is, cool, if it doesn’t hinder my lifestyle; if it doesn’t stop my daughter from eating, I can make a choice not to even bother or mess with anybody.”
Royalty officially drops Dec. 18th.
