Actor Laverne Cox walked the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild Awards over the weekend. The crowd gasped as Cox showed off his lanky legs in a crimson Prabal Gurung gown.
It’s obvious Cox, who was born Roderick Laverne Cox, is bleaching his skin. It’s sad enough when black women bleach, but when a black man bleaches his skin, it’s even sadder.
The 31-year-old Alabama native, who suffers from gender dysphoria, shared a SAG Award for a category called “Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series” for his role on the Netflix web series Orange Is The New Black.
In other words, SAG gave the entire cast trophies.
Gender dysphoria is defined as a psychological condition that causes significant distress in people who believe they were born the wrong sex.
