If the Grammys handed out trophies for Best Hair, singer Zendaya Coleman would walk away with one for her carefully coiffed mullet! The teenager turned heads on the red carpet in a black double breasted tuxedo pant suit and her throwback blonde mullet.
“I wanted to do something different,” the 19-year-old Disney star told ET News on the red carpet.
“This hair was actually kind of an out-of-the-blue type hair,” she said. “I wanted to do the short blonde, but I wanted to do something different, so I was like, ‘Let’s do a mullet!”
Some writers compared Zendaya’s coif to the late David Bowie’s signature mullet.
Zendaya said, “I’m like, ‘Why not?’ “I wanted to bring that feel into it. It’s kind of like a throwback a little bit.”
