Trump and Bernie Sanders are confronting the same paradox: the fate of
their insurgent campaigns built on scorn for the political establishment
rests on how well they play the inside game.
For
Trump, the challenge is shifting from a strategy of piling up state
primary wins to one that also takes into account states that award
delegates in a more intricate fashion. Trump’s organizational weakness
in that type of contest was underscored Saturday when he was swept by
Ted Cruz in the Colorado Republican convention.

Sanders,
meanwhile, has to win not only more pledged delegates but also more
superdelegates — party officials and other elites who can vote however
they choose — if he wants to take the Democratic battle for the White
House to the convention floor.

Trump is already making the case that
the system is inherently unfair and is a symptom of the insider politics
practiced by distant elites that disenfranchises grass-roots voters
like those who have flocked to his campaign.

“You see what’s happening to me and Bernie Sanders,” Trump said Sunday in Rochester, New York. “It’s a corrupt deal going on.”

The 2016 campaign’s shift from a simple
hunt for primary wins is more than a sign that the electoral calendar is
running out and routes to the nomination for both parties are beginning
to narrow. It’s proof that for all of its busted conventional wisdom
and broken political rules, the wild presidential campaign is at a point
where insurgent politics are no longer sufficient to win.

“The
nuts and bolts of presidential politics is an archaic language and very
few people understand it. Outsiders need insiders to be successful,”
said Republican political strategist Ford O’Connell. “If you want to
crack the Da Vinci code, you need insiders.”

Trump is doing just that. Last week, he hired Paul Manafort, a master of insider politics, to run his convention strategy.

Still, Trump and Sanders start at a disadvantage in the inside game.

(CNN) In the beleaguered, isolated community of the Ontario First Nation of Attawapiskat, one of the greatest dangers comes from within.

The 2,000-strong indigenous community in the far north of the Canadian
province has seen a spate of suicide attempts over the past eight months — over 100 members, young and old, have tried to take their own lives.

The situation came to a heartbreaking head this weekend, as community leaders in the tiny James Bay town were forced to declare a formal state of emergency after 11 people attempted to kill themselves Saturday.

“Community front line resources are exhausted, and no additional outside resources are available,” the declaration says.

Saturday’s shocking revelations follow another tragic month — 28 Attawapiskat residents attempted suicide in March, more than 100 since September of last year.

CNN affiliate CBC reports that amongst the dozens of suicide attempts, the youngest person was 11 years old, while the oldest was 71. One person has successfully taken their life since September.

The Assembly of First Nations, an organization representing indigenous people in Canada, said this is “a national tragedy and a national shame that demands immediate action and attention.”

“First Nation” refers to non-Inuit and non-Metis indigenous people in Canada. There are 617 First Nation communities across the country.

“We repeat our call for a national strategy to address First Nations
suicide,” the Assembly’s national chief, Perry Bellegarde, said.

This isn’t the first time that suicide has prompted a state of emergency in
Canada. The Pimicikamak Cree Nation community in northern Manitoba last month declared their own state of emergency after enduring six
self-inflcted deaths over a period of just a few months.

(CNN) Are you having enough sex? You might have wondered if you should up your bedroom activity after reading about other couples’ resolutions to have sex every day or about all the health benefits of getting horizontal.

In what might be welcome news for everyone exhausted from work and
frazzled from kids, research suggests you don’t have to get down every
day to reap the rewards of sex, at least in terms of happiness and
relationship closeness.

A recent study found that, although married people or people in committed relationships who had more sex tended to report feeling happier, the benefit leveled off at a sexual frequency of once a week. Those who said they did the deed four or more times a week did not report feeling any happier than those who had trysts only weekly.
