Brown posted an Instagram.com image of his daughter, Royalty Brown, dressed like a Flashdance extra.

Brown captioned the image: “It’s crazy to me that a parent would OK dressing our daughter like he 16. I ain’t cool wit that. SHE IS 2!!!!

he later deleted the post.

What do you think? Is it unacceptable to dress a 2-year-old like a hooker and post the image to social media?

I have two daughters. Both started dance classes at 2. Ballet/Tap combo. The required attire IS a leotard, tights, and ballet slippers. I had different tutus for them as well. Granted the type of leotard you choose makes all the difference and I was never fond of spaghetti strap leos but…idk. I think this is more about how her mother dresses her in general, which from what I’ve seen is sometimes inappropriate in my opinion. In Nia’s ummm…culture…that’s how some of them dress their little girls, they don’t see a problem with it.

Royalty definitely doesn’t look like a “hooker.” She looks like a beautiful little girl whose mother enacted poor judgment in how she is allowing her daughter to be posed for a photo. Her little outfit is appropriate for dance class, but the pose is too mature for a toddler, especially in a day and age where predators thrive on social media. That’s why adults should direct children’s actions.

Personally, IF I had children, I would refrain on posting their images on social media.

I have strong feelings about this issue Bc I’ve been on both sides. I’ve also been the new woman dating someone who wasn’t paying child support. I decided to pay it for him to the mother bc we were living together and I knew he was trying to get on his feet. I was also young, dumb as hell, and “madly” in love. Moving on, after receiving the money, his ex wife would blow up my phone laughing about how stupid I was for taking care of him. This was almost a decade ago, looking back, she was probably right but I do remember deciding to love his daughter the same way I tried to love him. And that meant making sure they both were good. The clothing manufacturers are sexualizing little girls’ clothing, and building for the explosive and billion-dollar tween market, and the youth demo. Parents are so into creating these mini-me little girls that they see little wrong with how they dress their little girls. We want kids, then we want them to hurry up and grow up, so when puberty hits, it’s over for far too many parents with running away, boys, fighting or even dying over them. I wish more kids could just be kids.

These celebrities branding their kids is also part of the problem, so others follow in their own way. Chris is right, but wrong delivery of his message. His opinion is generally shared by men, it’s women who mostly sexualize their little girls. My little girl loved the gaudy stage makeup and she has big lips, and she loved the red lipstick. Do you know what red lipstick looks like on 5yr old with big lips and missing teeth due to baby teeth falling out–it was not pretty to me. I have pictures too. Lots of pictures. I remember when my baby thought she was on of the NY Rockets. She was big for her age and we tried ballet to help her develop poise and grace, it worked too.

This little girl looks as if she is dressed for dance class in a leotard and leg warmers. Granted the pose doesn’t help, but I have seen chillins’ preparing for recitals doing a little more, wearing a little less and being extra than she is in the picture.
