LeBron James and the newly crowned NBA champions Cleveland Cavaliers returned home to celebrate with 5,000+ fans who waited for hours at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport on Monday.
The Cavaliers defeated the hapless Golden State Warriors 93-89 to win the first NBA championship in franchise history.
After making a pit stop in Las Vegas to celebrate, the team’s chartered jet landed at the Cleveland airport just after 12:30 p.m.
James, 31, stepped off the plane and hoisted the coveted Larry O’Brien Trophy to thunderous applause from the crowd.
The NBA Finals MVP took a dig at the Warriors by wearing a “Ultimate Warrior” t-shirt.
A parade is planned for Wednesday in downtown Cleveland.
