Cumberland County (NC) police have arrested a 24-year-old woman who was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted list on June 28.
Shanika Shantel Minor was arrested after a tip led police to the Airport Inn in Fayetteville, NC., just 2 a.m. on Friday.
Minor was wanted for the senseless murder of a Milwaukee woman and her unborn baby.
She faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree intentional homicide of a unborn child, and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution, according to ABC11 News.
Minor was visiting her mother in Milwaukee on March 5 when her mother complained that her next door was playing loud music at all hours of the night. Minor confronted the neighbor, Tamecca Perry, about the loud music.
A shouting match ensued and Minor threatened Perry with a gun. Minor’s mother rushed over to stop her daughter from harming Perry.
Minor fired a warning shot into the air before leaving the scene with several friends.
Police say Minor returned to the complex on March 6 around 3 a.m.. She walked into a common area of the complex and confronted Perry at the back door of her home.
Another shouting match ensued, and Minor’s mother again rushed over and positioned herself between her high-strung daughter and Perry.
Police say Minor reached over her mother’s shoulder and fired a single shot from her handgun, hitting Perry in the chest in front of her 2 small children.
Perry, who was nine months pregnant, died a week before she was due to deliver her son.
Minor is currently being held in the Cumberland County Jail without bond until federal agents arrive to escort her back to Wisconsin.
