Jokisha Brown

The U.S. Marshal’s service is offering a $5,000 reward for the arrest of Alfredo L. Capote, 29, who is wanted in the death of his girlfriend, Jokisha Brown.

Brown, aka “Kisha”, was shot to death at a shopping mall in northeast Atlanta on July 1 — the day before she turned 36. Friends say Brown was at the Cheshire Bridge strip mall to get her makeup done for a photo shoot.

She was shot multiple times through the front passenger side window of her black Mercedes SUV.

A man was seen running away from the area in grainy surveillance footage.

Investigators say the shooting was not random. “We believe (Brown) was the intended target,” Atlanta police Maj. Adam Lee said Thursday. “It looks like a hit.”

The single mom’s relationship with Capote was an abusive and violent one.

Police say Capote and another man broke into Brown’s Duluth home on April 8. They tied up her teenage son, raped Brown and kidnapped her.

The men took her to a Cobb County motel, where Capote raped her again and took her to middle Georgia.

The son was able to free himself hours later, but he did not call police because he feared for his mom’s safety.

The next morning, Brown managed to escape by jumping out the car window in Perry, Georgia. She jumped into another car in a parking lot and begged for help.

Gwinnett Police arrived minutes later, but Capote and the other man were gone.

Capote is considered armed and extremely dangerous. He is described as a black male, 5-foot-10, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

When he is captured, Capote faces charges of rape, armed robbery, false imprisonment and kidnapping.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Gwinnett police at (770) 513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at (404) 577-8477.
