Legendary rocker Mick Jagger, 73, and his 29-year-old wife Melanie Hamrick welcomed a baby boy on Thursday, his rep told Page Six. The newborn is Jagger’s 8th child.
“Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York and they are both delighted,” the rep said. “Mick was at the hospital for the arrival.”
The couple probably had a little help from a fertility doctor, but it is still a modern miracle for Jagger to sire children at his age.
The Rolling Stones lead singer is facing his own mortality. Friends say Jagger is disheartened at being a senior citizen with a newborn.
“He hasn’t responded to people sending him congratulations,” a source told Page Six. “Family is extremely important to him, and he is unhappy at the thought that when he should be teaching his kid to play catch, he’ll be 80 years old.”
Jagger is also a grandfather. His 2nd youngest child, Karis, is 46.
