The rumors are true: former President Barack Obama is operating a shadow government from his leased Washington, D.C. mansion.
Unlike his predecessors, Bill Clinton and George Bush, the former president remains in Washington under the pretense that he is stayng until his youngest daughter, Sasha, graduates from high school.
According to a report on Breitbart.com, Obama broke with tradition by deploying a team of at least a dozen "operatives" to spy on current President Donald Trump.
The team of spies work out of an office in Washington DC. Breitbart.com's report doesn't explain how Obama is paying their salaries or who is paying the rent on the office.
Obama, 55, is leasing a 8,200 sq ft, 8-bedroom mansion in DC's exclusive Kalorama neighborhood, a few blocks from his former residence.
Mr. Obama is said to be paying the $22,000 a month lease out of his own pocket.
He also moved his former White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett into his leased residence.
The mainstream media has all but ignored the 60-year-old Iranian moving in with the former president amid rumors of an impending divorce from his wife, Michelle Obama.
Breitbart.com reports that Obama has also participated in a “regular conference call” with his former White House aides, as well as making regular calls to Democrats in Congress, party leaders, and grassroots organizations.
Obama also partnered with the newly-formed Indivisible Project offering “online training” on how to protest President Trump’s agenda.
Despite being practically neighbors, Obama and Trump haven't spoken since the inauguration.
Obama is reportedly "irked" that Trump accused him of wiretapping his phones.
