Sad news. Terminally ill cancer patient Ebony Banks, of Houston, Texas, died 4 days after meeting her idol Beyoncé Knowles.
When Ebony learned her stage IV cancer was terminal, she told her family her biggest wish was to meet Beyoncé before she died.
Ebony’s family and friends immediately launched an online campaign to get the Houston native’s attention.
“Beyoncé is one of her idols,” Karina Gutierrez, a classmate of Banks’ told ABC13 News. “She admires her so much, so we’re trying to put that on Twitter and Instagram to get Beyoncé’s attention.”
The campaign was a huge success, and Beyoncé responded by FaceTiming the teenager last week.
Houston’s Alief Hastings High School confirmed the sad news via Twitter on Sunday, according to US Weekly magazine.
