Tiffany Haddish apologized for cracking a joke about disgraced comedian Bill Cosby, who faces numerous counts of sexual assault against women over a span of 40 years.
The ‘Girls Trip’ star cracked the joke after the Los Angeles Times asked who was still on her bucket list to work with.
“Bill Cosby – I still want to work with Bill Cosby, I don’t care, I’ll drink the juice. I’ll drink the juice. I’ll take a nap. I don’t give a damn,” Tiffany laughed. “But seriously, I would love for him to play my grandfather in something.”
Reporters who lack a sense of humor pressed Haddish to clarify her comments at the 2017 TCA Summer Press Tour in Beverly Hills, California, on Thursday.
“What I said was a joke,” the 37-year-old comedienne-turned-actress said. “I don’t know if you’ve ever been interviewed before. You do 27 interviews and you’re supposed to be humorous all that time. You’re gonna say some bad jokes. You’re gonna come up with a few not-good jokes.
“I was trying to make it seem like I’m not afraid to do anything. I’m not afraid of any kind of job, I’m not afraid to play any kind of role, as long as it doesn’t compromise my morals.”
Tiffany was at the TCA Summer Press Tour to promote her new series The Last O.G., which also stars Tracy Morgan and Cedric the Entertainer.
