The girlfriend of former Mr. California, Rich Piana, lashed out at rumors that he died over the weekend. Piana, 46, is in a medically-induced coma after collapsing at his Florida home last week.

“I will not be posting any updates after this until further notice,” Chanel Jansen wrote on Instagram.com.

“I just want to be clear @1dayumay [Piana] is STILL ALIVE. All myself and his family are asking for is POSITIVE thoughts, prayers, and love. PLEASE i’m BEGGING you all to have some respect and realize how EXTREMELY difficult this is for us.”

Piana suffered a cardiac arrest at home on Monday, Aug. 7, according to published reports.

Piana was unresponsive when paramedics arrived at his home.

He was transported to a local hospital and put in a medically induced coma to decrease the swelling on his brain.

Officers who responded to Chanel’s 911 call found multiple bottles of the male hormone Testosterone in the house. They also found bottles of anabolic steroid supplements that contain Testosterone and other androgens to build muscle mass quickly.

It is reported that Piana suffered a cardiac arrest as a result of an overdose of steroids.

In a video he posted last year, Piana advised his fans to eat more food and avoid steroidal supplements. “Food is where it’s at. F-ck the supplements. Don’t waste your money. Buy food first,” he said.

But he also admitted using steroids to maintain his award winning physique.

“If you have the choice to do steroids or stay natural, stay natural. There’s no reason to do steroids, you’re only hurting your body and hurting yourself,’ Piana said.

‘But if you want to become a professional bodybuilder, guess what? You’re probably going to have to f***ing do them, you’re not going to have a choice. That’s the boat I was in.
