Atlanta police released a surveillance video in connection with a deadly carjacking in Southwest Atlanta around 7:30 p.m Saturday, Sept. 16.
Police are searching for 4 male suspects who shot and killed Marietta graffiti artist Martin “Tino” Hvizda, 31, then fled in his late model SUV.
The deadly carjacking occurred at an Exxon station at 507 Joseph E. Lowery Blvd near I-20.
“The shooting appears to have been a result of a motor vehicle hijacking and the unknown suspects fled the area in the victim’s vehicle,” Atlanta police Officer Stephanie Brown told the AJC.
The car is described as a silver Infiniti FX with tinted windows, black rims and a Georgia tag QAC 3166.
In the surveillance video, four black males are seen walking south on Joseph E. Lowery Boulevard toward the Exxon station.
“Investigators are releasing surveillance footage of the suspects in an effort to identify anyone involved in this homicide,” Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee said on Friday.
Crime Stoppers is offering up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest and indictment of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call the Crime Stoppers tip line at 404-577-TIPS (8477), online at www.crimestoppersatlanta.org or by texting the tip to CRIMES (274637).

They can capture recorded events if done fast enough otherwise the camera re-records over, like a car camera. Where I am, there are cameras on businesses and traffic lights. I admit I don’t know how those cameras operate but I believe they are in a fixed position and what we are seeing is the effect of manipulation after the fact. They get the specific footage they want, then the police can pan to different positions or zoom in and out and that motion makes it look like the camera was following movement.

I live almost an hour out from ATL and its just getting BAD everywhere you go! Its no escaping the violence nowhere! I moved here 12 years ago and it has changed so much! Its “SCAM” city! I call myself moving my family to a place with a bit more opportunity than segregated/no growth/ran down Cleveland, Ohio which I always resented living!
I don’t know what will be my next move, I’m praying on it daily but I just don’t know if ATL is it! I feel safe where I live(for now) but I still have to head to the city for events etc that I cover. I’m here because of what I do and its the #1 market right now and brands know that this is a target area. If not for that, I would have been bounced! I want to leave but my daughter’s career has flourished now but even she has gotten caught up in the culture somewhat!
I pray for my teens everyday but this city has become something so fast that we are not even prepared for! I just pray and try to instill in my kids about what is really important and to treat people right! I am constantly praying for peace for the world. Yeah I try to do my part by mentoring. I’m one of if not the only young black male mentors there. Very few black male mentors period, and the ones that do are older gentlemen in their 50’s and 60’s.

When you are approaching a parking lot, pay attention to the people on the perimeters of the lot. Look out for groups and anyone who is wearing a hoodie during warm weather. If their hood is concealing their face, they are up to no good.
The same rules apply to looking for a parking space on the street. Carjackers frequently stakeout vacant parking spaces. Sometimes, they spread out on foot, and cover an entire block. Sometimes, the carjackers park near the open space and wait for a victim to approach.

Watched the news today and I saw where a white man in Kennesaw killed his neighbor and buried him under a concrete slab in the backyard. The expansion of Martha may be a blessing and a curse. Because Atlanta is huge it will allow people without cars to possibly have opportunities to work jobs they could never have with out a car. On the other side of this it will allow access to Alpharetta,Dunwoody and North Fulton to people who don’t mean well. Atlanta is becoming New York but with much more crime.
