Rapper Cardi B cleaned up at the 2017 BET Hip-Hop Awards in Miami, Florida over the weekend. The 24-year-old one-hit-wonder took home a plethora of awards, including Single of the Year for her #1 hit “Bodak Yellow” and Best New Hip Hop Artist of the Year.
Cardi is pictured leaving the BET Hip Hop Awards after-party at a nightclub in Miami at 6 a.m with 2 cell phones in her hand. Most rappers carry multiple cell phones to separate business calls from booty calls.
Cardi B partied with her boyfriend, rapper Offset, wearing B&W shirt, from the rap group Migos, who surprised her with a beautiful bouquet of roses as they left the club. Other party guests included Migos bandmates Quavo and Takeoff, as well as Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka and his beautiful wife Tammy Rivera, pictured below.
Waka’s mom, Debra Antney, was part of the protest outside Houston’s restaurant in Buckhead, an exclusive neighborhood in Atlanta. Debra and rap mogul T.I. Harris called themselves protesting a longstanding restaurant policy that prohibits seating a party larger than 7 people.
T.I.’s long-suffering wife, Tameka “Tiny” Harris also participated in the protest. She claims the restaurant made her change her revealing top for something more respectable.
The Buckhead location, across from Lenox Mall, was forced to shut down on Sunday, thereby depriving their staff — including black employees — of wages for that day.
Every black person I spoke to who has dined at Houston’s say they have never experienced racism or discrimination at the restaurant. Your auntie has also dined at Houston’s, and I have never experienced discrimination.
Debra and T.I. should pick their battles more wisely. As a wise person once said: “Is this the hill you want to die on?”
