A Ohio man brutally stabbed and shot his future mother-in-law to death before going to dinner with his future father-in-law at the restaurant where his fiancée worked.
Police say Jeffrey Scullin Jr, 20, shot and stabbed Melinda Pleskovic to death on the night of October 23. Then the callous killer joined Pleskovic’s husband for dinner at the Applebees where his fiancée, the victim’s daughter, worked.
After returning from dinner, Scullin called 911 to say he found Pleskovic dead in a pool of blood.
Scullin was arrested after police searched his truck and found a tactical knife with traces of Pleskovic’s blood on it. More blood was found on the inside passenger door handle of the 2002 Chevy pickup truck.
Police say Schullin was cool as a cucumber in the days after the murder, even volunteering as pallbearer at the victim’s funeral.
Scullin was arranged on Friday morning and charged with aggravated murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
Police did not reveal a motive for the murder.
A judge set his bond at $1 million.
