Tongues are wagging after Prince Harry made two public appearances in London without his fiancée Meghan Markle by his side. Us magazine reports that Markle, 36, flew to Los Angeles to spend time with her mother, Doria Ragland, and friends.
The 36-year-old American actress is not due back in London until the Christmas holidays. Her 1st public appearance with Harry was last week at an AIDS charity event in Nottingham, England.
Sources say Markle was upset after she was criticized for breaking royal protocol during her public appearance with Harry.
She reportedly broke protocol by carrying a designer handbag rather than a clutch, as is customary.
She also held hands with the 33-year-old prince, which breaks with tradition.
Fans were surprised when Markle abruptly jetted off to the U.S. after having moved to London last week to be with her future husband.
Rumor has it that Markle is not at all satisfied with her and Harry’s meager accommodations — a tiny 2-bedroom 1,300 sq ft cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace, near the servants quarters.
Markle’s former best friend Ninaki Priddy describes her as a narcissist who dumped her first husband, Trevor Engelson, whom she married in front of more than 100 guests on a beach in Jamaica in 2011.
“Then, after the wedding, it was like a light switched off,” Priddy recalled. “There’s Meghan Before Fame and Meghan After Fame. After three seasons of Suits, she called me to say the marriage was over.”
It remains to be seen whether Markle and Harry’s marriage lasts that long.
