Meghan Markle deleted her Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts hours before visiting a radio station in London, England with her fiancé Prince Harry. Us Weekly reports that Markle, 36, deleted her social media accounts on January 9, before her first royal public event of 2018.
Kensington Palace confirmed the accounts were deleted by the American actress.
“Ms. Markle is grateful to everyone who has followed her social media accounts over the years, however as she has not used them for some time, she has taken the decision to close them,” reads a statement to Us Weekly.
Hundreds lined the streets in the bitter cold to see Meghan and Harry outside Reprezent 107.3FM in Brixton. Twitter users noted Meghan and Harry’s body language improved greatly from their last outing of 2017.
The soon-to-be royal waved and blew kisses to the crowd as she and Harry toured Pop Brixton, a community project of independent local businesses and the not-for-profit radio station housed inside gigantic shipping containers.
As for Meghan’s designer outfit, Twitter users identified her $60 sweater as from British brand M&S’s Autograph collection, which Markle paired with Burberry trousers, a coat by Smythe, and a scarf from Jigsaw.
Harry and Meghan are set to marry at Windsor Castle in May.
