Offset and his brethren Takeoff and Quavo of rap group Migos are so terrified for their lives that they’ve hired Secret Service level security to protect them during the big NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles.
Offset’s fiancée, rapper Cardi B, angered members of the Crips street gang with an Instagram.com posts several weeks ago.
Cardi, who was born Belcalis Almanzar, posted a photo of herself wearing a blue fur coat. In the photo caption, the self-professed Bloods gang member wrote: “I hate flue, but this coat was too poppin’.”
“Flue” — a merging of the words “f-ck” and “blue” — is considered an insult to Crips gang members who drop the letter ‘B’ from their language.
After the backlash from Crips members online, Cardi deleted the caption and the comments but the image is still on her Instagram feed.
Migos held an autograph signing at a L.A. store on Thursday afternoon. According to TMZ, the group rolled up in an alley behind the store. Their massive security detail blocked entry on both sides of the alley. The burly security guards also stood guard at the front and back entrances.
The fearsome-looking security guards left seasoned paparazzi weighing their options after they were blocked from entering the store.
One top celebrity photographer said that IF Cardi B is in Los Angeles she is keeping a low profile.
Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G. were shot and killed by rival gangs on the west coast.
The Migos don’t want to be next.
