A former Playboy model and her 7-year-old son leaped to their deaths from the 25th floor of a Manhattan hotel, sources tell ABC News.
The bodies of Stephanie Adams, 47, and her son Vincent were found on a second floor balcony in the rear of The Gotham Hotel on East 46th Street in Midtown Manhattan on Friday morning.
Adams and her son were guests at the hotel. She checked into a suite on the 25th floor on Thursday at 6 p.m., according to law enforcement officials.
A worker called police about 8:30 a.m. Friday to report hearing two loud sounds in the area of a 2nd floor balcony, according to The NY Post.
“He heard two loud noises and his attention was drawn to that and he discovered two deceased individuals,” said NYPD Chief William Aubry.
Aubry declined to say whether the sounds were close together or far apart — which would indicate Stephanie and Vincent jumped together.
The paper says Adams had a history of domestic violence with her estranged husband, Charles Nicolai.
Adams and Nicolai attended a hearing in Manhattan Supreme Court Wednesday morning.
Nicolai, who had visitation rights, asked the judge to prevent Adams from taking their son to Spain for summer vacation. Adams’ boyfriend lives in Spain and owns a home in London.
The judge sided with Nicolai and ordered Stephanie to turn over her passport.
The former Wilhelmina model sounded distraught in a phone call to the NY Post‘s Richard Johnson around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday.
