Atlanta police are investigating 3 deadly shootouts that occurred within hours in one day in Atlanta. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution published this photo of a family mourning a man who was fatally shot on Simmons Street on Thursday.
Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News a man in his 40s was gunned down on the front porch of a home during a shootout in the 600 block of Simmons Street.
An officer who was nearby and heard the gunfire arrived on the scene within minutes.
“Officers arrived right after the call came in to 911,” Atlanta police Lt. LeAnne Browning told WSB-TV. “They found the victim inside the residence.”
The victim was pronounced dead at Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital.
Family members say the unnamed man was a loving father of four.
“He took care of his kids,” the victim’s brother told AJC.com. “They were all he had.”
The Simmons Street shootout was the last of three shoutouts in one day on the streets of Atlanta.
The Peach city has been dubbed “Chi-Lanta” — drawing comparisons to Chicago, the city with the highest rate of gun-related crimes in the nation.
via AJC.com –A man, who has not been identified, was found shot about 8 p.m. in the 3000 block of Delmar Lane Thursday night and later died at a local hospital.
Then, about 11 p.m., 30-year-old Deonta Wallace was shot in the parking lot of the Verbena Garden apartments. Responding officers found the man dead between two cars.
The crime scenes stretch from Ralph David Abernathy Boulevard to Hollowell Parkway.
The the bloody slaughter continues apace on the streets of Atlanta….. No one In power speaks out about this. They would not even vote for the white Norwood lady because she dare said she was going to be hard on crime. So they put Ratchet Bottoms in office and she is already linked to the same crap as Muhammad Kasim Reed…
don’t make no sense.
well when you have a city filled with gangs and death music who refused to work and even the local government kissing the guys ass who make the death music this can be expected
Sandra, can we get an expose on this Charlamagne The God rape allegation. The media is pretty quiet about it. Heard his legal team is having videos and court documents removed from the inter webs…
westside smh
Don’t say that Sandra!
These are gang members fleeing the violence in their native Chicago. Georgia needs a border wall.
The problem is Atlanta doesn’t have enough police officers. Last weekend a man tried to break into my townhouse at 4 a.m. in Buckhead – the safest neighborhood in Atlanta. It took police 28 minutes to respond. That’s unacceptable!
Cops don’t do that kind of policing no more Auntie. Now, if you were driving with a cell phone in your lap that’s another thing. They will pull you over on sight.
Condolences to the deceased.
Is there more to the story other than he took the DNA test it came back negative and he went on his way? Are DNA tests no longer proving people’s innocence?
To My Black Brothers, We Have Got to Do Better!!
What?? Wow sorry to hear that. However u have to agree that buck head is not the same anymore.
My reason for living in McDonough..THE DURN COUNTRY. I’d rather see a bunch of cows and horses than thugs.
Now my city ain’t got nothing to do with this. Leave Chicago out of it Sandra. This is all in Atlanta. Always trying to make Chicago sound worse than what it is.
Welp I see how this Friday Posting session is turning out.. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5406a067d89d1924f4f9967857b7ca15a701e44524df7514659efb170810c224.gif
Why doesn’t be city have enough cops ?
I’d rather pay $1800 to live in a shoebox in NYC knowing and feeling safe. Atlanta has really changed. Mayor Keisha is Kaseem puppet.
Uplifting post please.
its all of the transplants from NYC & CHICAGO
Chi-Lanta https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/56061d069de39b4c175dbb90fc7b9f4bb84f65662e1e20d588005932a862a13f.jpg
This reminds me the day my nephew was murdered, its a horrible feeling. My sister and brother are doing a lot better now but she will never be right. Its not jut poverty these young men and some women are just ignorant.
Sorry for your loss
im from ATL & ive met 8 people from chicago, 3 of the 8 i met in court for a weapons charge. I work at the public defenders office. Yea they here from chicago & they doing A lot crimes.
My brother was murdered and my mother has never been the same.
Thank you
Sorry for your loss as well
sad to say but i agree.

Y’all always find a way to slander Chicago.
For the first year she was on two anti depressants. And all my nephew was doing was picking up his girl friend, Got lost and circled the block to many times.
I moved out to the country. When people come over they call and ask if they in the right place because all they see is cornfields on their way.
:(..That is so sad.
I personally think it has almost nothing to do with poverty.
When you have a CULTURE that glorifies violence, when your “heros” are rappers who teach young boys how cool it is to kill each other, when you have a MAYOR who appoints these peddlers of violent lyrics to posts on transition teams, when you have highly publicized parties to welcome home criminals upon their release from jail (“hail the conquering hero”) — then wanton murder is what we will reap in return.
They are not killing to survive, they are killing for the hell of it.
Condolences to your family. May they one day find peace. ?
Condolences to you and especially to your mother. ?
28 minutes to respond is unacceptable! I hope you have a gun.
That is a fact.
That is just the same shyte they say about Detroit.
OMG and just to think I always wanted to move to Atlanta, well a suburb of it. maybe I should rethink this. I had no idea Atlanta has gotten so bad. When I visit it’s so nice and peaceful. I just read the news this morning about this guy got robbed and shot while waiting on an Uber after attending a wedding he was a restaurant owner from the DC area and he was in a nice area of Atlanta.
This hurts my heart. That poor boy.
Charlamagne’s comment regarding a passed DNA test is the only reference to a DNA test I can find. He was investigated and indicted (which from my experience happens after DNA has been collected and analyzed). The DA for SC released a statement the other day and said the r.pe charge was dismissed because the victim refused to cooperate. She made no reference to a passed DNA test. She said they are not re-opening the case because he plead to a reduced charge so from their perspective the case has been disposed AND because they don’t think they would be able to locate witnesses etc. I would think if the evidence (DNA or otherwise) proved it wasn’t him: 1) He wouldn’t have plead to a lesser charge AND 2) the prosecutor would have simply said the DNA proved it wasn’t him—there is no case.
Because they pay bullshyt salaries.
Chicago AIN’T shit… unless you’re part of the problem, you would have to agree. The city ain’t nothing compared to what it used to be. Too many unncesarry killings……you can’t even sit on your porch, in your car, or by your window. It’s a sad was environment. Period!
Just another day in the Neighborhood.
My condolences to you and your family.
That is the dumbest ever, but they won’t respond in ample amount of time for more serious issues.
“when you have a MAYOR who appoints these peddlers of violent lyrics to posts on transition teams”
I’m still shaking my head over that decision. That was just beyond dumb.
My condolences to you and family.
He pled guilty to what they had the evidence for. This has been discussed by him many times.
How is the crime in McDonough? I visited there last summer and that’s one of the places I was thinking of moving too If I decided to move which is a big if now that I have seen the crime rate sky rocket in the Atlanta area. I love to visit and I wanted a change of pace. I live about 45 mins outside of Washington DC so I see the same type of violence on the news but it looks like the Atlanta crime is spelling into the suburbs as well. McDonough, Peach Tree City, Conyers, Newman are some of the other places I am considering.
?!
Surprised it wasn’t Detroit this time. SMH
because their ass be just as scared as we are. smdh Most cops just try to fly under the radar until its time to retire or get promoted to sergeant so they can get off the street sit behind a desk or arrive after the crime has been committed and all the other officers have arrived. Its the rookies that be all trying to overdo their jobs because there chest all big because they a cop.
I’ve read the “he discussed it plenty of times” therefore he must be innocent comment a few times. I’m just trying to follow the logic. The conviction is out there, it would make sense for him to get ahead of the story. Create the narrative. In 2001, he had money and lawyers. Why plead to something you didn’t do? Especially since according to him he wasn’t even physically there. Seems like that in conjunction with this phantom DNA test he passed, it would be really easy to prove he wasn’t the one that raped her.
I can’t put the sole blame on music or government I lay it at the feet of lack of parenting.
Sometimes they take officers away from the good neighborhoods to focus on the bad ones so maybe someone had to travel quite a distance to get to you. It’s still unacceptable. I’m glad they didn’t get in and no one was hurt.
In 2001 he was Wendy Williams sidekick. It sounds like you don’t want to believe a DNA test was taken but it was. It was a rape case, they did one. And if it matched him they wouldn’t have needed her. They would gone forward with the charges.
Being from New Orleans, I can attest to the fact that ……IT IS UNATURAL AND AGINST THE LAWS OF THE UNIVERSE TO BURY BLACK MEN AT THIS ALARMING RATE.
Oh my God, Sandra. I’m so sorry this happened to you. Please do whatever you need to do to protect yourself… step-up your home security (and your ‘personal’ security). Prayers…. smh….
damn crackheads! https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/63d1da5f502ee5cb931b4b6cbd5b12f9625a58356abcab137e67cbcc496aa4b5.gif
Why they never mention New Orleans, Google those stats for crime and see, who really has alot of crime,
WOW you said some real shitt right there.
this is so disheartening to read… everyone should be able to feel safe where they live. unfortunately, it only takes a few ‘bad apples’ to f*ck it up for everybody, smh. i hope things improve for you and your community.
I never said a DNA test wasn’t conducted.
And they actually still would have needed her if the DNA matched. You can’t have a trial without a victim.
You may want to read/listen to something other than Charlamagne’s side of the story. You don’t have to but it would give you a more informed perspective.
wow, sorry for your fam’s loss. it’s always horrible when a family has to bury their young. my aunt did my young cousin’s eulogy after he was murdered. she had finally moved out of the ‘hood’ and into the suburbs. but, he kept going back to visit his ‘friends’ and they finally killed him. animals!
Never been, but have read history and seen lot of pictures, New Orleans is one of the most beautiful cities. Are there safe parts?
The media makes it like if you walk out of your front door in Chicago you’ll get shot? Is it like that everywhere in Chicago? Do people live in fear?
prayers for your fam, smh
ANIMALS!
I visited Detroit last summer and I was scared to death to go because of what I heard about Detroit in the past, but my husband was visiting family and I had no choice. I did endless research on the safest places to stay, But Detroit turned out to be one of the nicest trips we had taken that summer the views to Canada from my hotel window was beautiful, we also enjoyed going to Hitsville USA, the activities they had on the Boardwalk and the museums. the food wasn’t bad either . We also went to NY, Memphis, Cleveland and Atlanta that summer. with Cleveland and Memphis being the most boring places ever!!!!
Yeah I hear that place is out of control in every sense of the word. And somehow I would still like to visit Bourbon street sometime in the future for some good ole food and music!
sending love and protection Sandra sheesh .. my Lord WTF
Is this everywhere or just in certain areas? I know someone that visited and got robbed their first day there.
If the DNA matched, they would have pled him. Most cases never go to trial.
My nephew’s girl friend just happened to live in the “hood”
just another day around the way… feelin’ good to day… it’s gonna be okay?
Oh no! Sorry to hear that Sandra! Lord have mercy!
Chicago is a beautiful city. Yes, there are dangerous neighborhoods just like any other city. I don’t live in anymore fear in Chicago than any other city.
New post
It seems to rotate every couple of years. It was Chicago for a while, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia (they used to call it Kill-adelphia), St Louis, New Orleans at different times… now people are talking about Atlanta. It’ll be some other city a couple years from now.
i’m from a very RURAL part of texas (you might be askin’, ain’t most of texas rural? lol) and there’s backroads in certain communities that you dare not go down. i go to Google maps and see if i can map these roads and even Google drivers haven’t traversed in some of these places. it would legit take the national guard or an armed contingent to go down these roads and bust the dope dealers in the back woods—dope dealers formally cityfolk who bring their gang life to the country.
There were 9 shootings in a less than 24 hour period last weekend in my hometown…I pray for my family still there its like the wild wild west…
OMG I’m suppose to be going to Philly next week should I be concerned?
I’m planning my bday trip there in December.
PP and Grand-SUN are headed there today.
That’s why I’m scared of the hood, and I try to avoid it as much as I can. Sorry, no shame in my game.
I drive through when I need to, but I try not to even stop to get gas. Just too many horror stories.
Lucky you! I’m so Jealous! Have fun!
OMG I pray for you and your family as well. Where are you from?
and that’s sad as well because there are obviously good families who, for whatever reason, can’t afford to pickup and move just because their ‘hood’ is deteriorating because of of a bad element getting a foothold and taking over. and it seems that law enforcement’s approach to dealing with the bad element is to try to “contain” it (i.e., keep it where it ‘lives’ and not let it spread to the “good” neighborhoods). those living among the lawless heathens feel abandoned and helpless because to an extent, they are abandoned and left to survive as best they can. add bad cops into the mix and you can see makings of a recipe for disaster. the ‘hood’ my aunt moved out of, a few years later, they had cops trafficking young girls in one of the apt buildings! when it was discovered what was happening, one of the dirty cops drowned himself in the potomac river – coward!!!
Thanks for your legal insight…
Like I said earlier, he was the second mic on one of the biggest morning shows. He had lawyers. His lawyers would not have accepted a felony rape charge plea agreement in a case where the victim was not cooperating with the DA. You take plea deals when you think you can’t win in court.
P.S.– I don’t know if he did it. I don’t really care. I just think it’s interesting that given his stature it isn’t being talked about everywhere.
My friend Mr. Glock is good for situations like that. And his cousins Smith & Wesson are good too.
Nothing is confirmed. LOL It’s leading in comparison to a list of other places; DR, Miami, Jamaica, NOLA.
Akron…left years ago tho
You sound like me. I have a friend who is use to it and she calls me bougie because I refuse to hangout for happy hour or whatever if its the hood. she says crime is everywhere, I completely agree anything can happened at anytime but I’m NOT hanging in a place where people are murdered every single day. Sorry not Sorry. I literally quit my job because I was tired of working in the hood, and I felt unsafe, and I don’t want to live anywhere where I have to travel through the hood to get home either.
hey, if your gut tells you to get the hell outta there, then that’s what you do. *shrug*
a large segment of my fam always lived in the ‘hood’ and we always visited them without incident. they were well-liked and respected and they know darn near everybody. but, nowadays, it’s a different vibe and the young people have no boundaries and no respect, even for themselves or their own families. they literally give no F’s!
Safe is a relative term. I was born and raised in NOLA . If I thought about it I probably have personally known 30 to 50 victims of homicide. However, I do not fear for my life here.
I completely agree anything can happened at anytime but I’m NOT hanging in a place where people are murdered every single day.
__________________________________________
that’s wisdom. i don’t see how anybody can argue with that!
Wasn’t the lesser charge that he took the plea for something to do with giving alcohol to minors? Why are you guys trying to make this rape happen? I don’t usually defend people but this is bogus. The DNA came back negative, he took a plea for the alcohol, so why keep on bringing up the rape thing as if that wasn’t disposed of already? The DNA came back negative. Would you like him to post the DNA result for you? Even then, some of you will say it’s photoshopped. I don’t blame him for keeping quiet. Let his lawyers talk and sue from here on out. Baseless slander. DNA negative = free to go. Contributing to the delinquency of minors = plea deal.
I think if you avoid the more “hood-ish” parts of the city you’ll be fine.
Bourbon is usually highly policed and very commercial.
prayers for your fam, smh
So true!!!! I feel for them. and the cost of living is so high people can barely afford to live in the hood much less the suburbs, so they have no choice but to stay and pray. OMG those cops were disgusting. this story sounds so familiar where are you from?
My sister was murdered 3 years ago and my mother is a shell of the person that she use to be. Before this happened she wasn’t on any type of medication but now she’s taking meds for depression, anxiety, heart meds and blood pressure. It honestly seems like she’s getting worse not better and we feel so helpless.
Sounds like that’s where I want to be!!! There and only there.
OMG I will take all of them! lol
WOW!
Thanks Nancy
Lol. You gotta dip out a little bit.
I plan to stay near what they call the City Center, We just want to eat a steak n cheese visit the bell, the love statue the rocky steps and some museums, oh and that place that sells a lot of food! lol Any hotels you can recommend?
Are they going to the Taste?
My heart is so broken for you and your mom. I know what’s its like to lost a child. I pray she finds some strength so she can live again.
Of course they wouldn’t have unless they had DNA. Which didn’t match, so they plead him on what they could charge.
Honestly I havent been there, so anything I would tell you is basically second-hand info. But I know people from there. The general advice I’ve always been given is that in the main city centers and areas most tourists go, you’ll be fine. Those areas are pretty safe with good police presence.
You just have to be careful in the more hood-ish neighborhoods. But I guess the same can be said of Atlanta and most big cities too.
i’m in a suburb of DC. (washingtonpost.com might have the story of the pimp cops)
yesterday on news radio they were talking about the current problem of community policing. some young men are complaining about being randomly stopped and asked for ID when they’ve done nothing to warrant any interaction with the police. the other side of that is the fact that teen violence in the city is on the rise and people want the police to ‘do something’ about the out of control young people. i don’t know what the answer is, but another part of the problem (IMO) is the fact that you have so many white officers who don’t LIVE in the city, showing up in the neighborhoods with no knowledge of where the trouble is concentrated, so they tend to treat everyone as a suspect. it’s a whole pickle i tell ya, smh
My sister n law was like that for a long time, but thankfully he left behind a son. I pray I never know the pain of losing a child, I can’t imagine what that everyday thought process is like. Its hard and he was just my nephew. I pray your mom finds some peace.
People sometimes don’t realize how a murder affects (and sometimes destroys) so many lives. A lot of other people’s lives are permanently changed when something like that happens.
There are apartments everywhere, my mom got us right out as soon as she could and didn’t look back.
I honestly think at some point its so the norm for them that they can’t understand where I am coming from. I responded to a post from someone who said he lost like 50 friends to murder and yet that person still lives in the same neighborhood. I just don’t get it. its like they are numb to their surroundings. But a lot of people like the hood they think its fun and hip and living in the suburbs is boring and quiet. that’s what my friend would say she like people out all day and night loud music and playing cards etc that shitt would drive me crazy and I would be ready to call the sheriff!!
He allegedly drugged her so his boy could rape her. I assume Ctg didn’t have sex with the girl because he’s gay.
Me too! I thought I heard of that before.
DC has gotten ridiculous my fear is they are building some much and pushing out the poor .i.e. blacks, that they may come to MD and then MD will be a replica of DC. I pray that will not happened.
good for her!
the issue now is rapid gentrification in DC; white folks are buying up those gorgeous row houses, updating them, and selling them for close to $1M (which drives up property values AND taxes for the ‘old’ families living there, so they will eventually be driven out too). then they’re building all these new condos (’cause ‘they’ love living in ‘crevices’ (j/k, Lol). the city gov does the bare minimum to provide affordable housing because there’s so much money to be made from the construction companies, and there have been heated council meetings on rent control and such. it’s all about the money, and if you got none, you’re basically f’d. *deep sigh*
Just avoid Kensington all together, certain parts of North, West, & Southwest Philly ( they’ve been on a rampage these last couple of days). Stay in tourist areas or with people that know the city. I believe this is anywhere u go in terms of urban city’s really. Go down to Spruce st Harbor while here though you’ll love it they have a man-made board walk, hammocks, food trucks, raw entertainment, skating etc it’s just a pleasant place to visit.
No I don’t like to go off the main drag when visiting a place I never been unless I am with someone who lives there, or if I’m going to another tourist area. I’m to scared! lol
i just typed that!!! the gentrification is REAL!
and i live in MD, in one of the often described “richest Black communities” (but, locally, we know it’s also sometimes described as “Ward 9” because that’s where many of the “pushed out” DC residents land). i’ve not seen any impact to my immediate neighborhood, but i’m absolutely prepared to move back to VA if it goes left, LOL!
“Place that sells a lot of food”??? Probably Reading Terminal all good food… Try the Marriott, Lowe’s, or Kimpton Paloma’s that Hotel is beautiful. My aunt works for IHG hotels and stayed there when she flew in from Florida that place was beautiful…
LMAO!!!
yeah I think I actually have that on the list. What about Washington square?
I had people who plainly said to me they wouldn’t vote for Norwood because she’s white, and it didn’t matter how qualified she is. That was kinda pathetic to me, hearing stuff like that.
Cheese steak suggestion would be not to go to Pats or Gino’s ( they’re tourist spots) go to Jim’s on South St, or Delessandros on Henry ave, and don’t let nobody convince you to go to Max’s on Broad n Erie they got gristle in their steaks yuck, but the Clock Bar next door to Max’s has some good seafood. Have a safe n Blessed trip!
i kinda understand where your friend is coming from because my fam that always lived in the hood have such a different vibe and approach to living. they do have a lot of fun and strangely, there is a sense of loyalty and family among them and the people they grew up with (and they always keep it “real” which i actually find refreshing at times, Lol). but, if you’re not from ‘there’ i can admit that you sorta standout like a sore thumb, ROFL! like you said, it’s not for me, because that’s not where i came up. but i also never felt threatened when visiting my fam. DC is full of folks from the South actually, so there’s also that dynamic. but now with these young folks?! it’s all a bit much, even for folks who did grow up there.
I have family that work for her and have told me all kinds of stuff and they still voted for her becuse she is black girl magic
wth man. this is why I refuse to even drive through certain areas
I’ve never heard Chi-Lanta…who dubbed us that? hmmm…Atlanta is and will always ATLANTA. Period!
They keep it on the hush when it’s a tourist area.. Atlanta is a big convention town so you only here about this on basically one local news station
Nice tourist spot I don’t work far from there they have a nice park that sells food n everything near there called Franklin Square it’s a really nice park if you’re into parks.
Maaaaaan….that election went straight down racial lines…like i know some folks that straight up said, “I want to keep Atlanta black”……smh…elections have consequences
New Orleans is beautiful? Have you been there yourself?
Build that Wall!!!!!!!!
Take an Uber to Neyows and have the charbroiled oysters.
Black folks been living with violence so long they think this is normal even threatened to get to Marching if trump dare send the National Guard to Chicago
Y’all wrong for this… *goes to YouTube to jam out to the song*
Well, get used to it: it is now Chi-Lanta. Another highly crime-infested urban Black area filled with violence, poverty, fatherless children, incarcerations, jealous/hatred and a hotbed for STDs/HIV.
So much for brotherly love when we have so many Blacks males who are thugs, gangs and into shootings, killings, stabbings, robbing & hating on each. -should be a crime to mix bad traits to procreate.
The Clock bar has the best slushies drinks (grownfolks) LOL.
niggas….
Some Black folks not all Black folks live that way of life and think that it is normal. -but for those who choose to live in the inner-cities or ghettos, high crime & dysfunctionals becomes a norm.
…you mean ‘hood.
Its the American way, it ain’t just Chicago. And when y’all refer to Chicago, are we talking about the 1920’s Chicago, when America was so-called great?
This is what I’m talking about! Where’s the outrage? Where are Shaun King and that opportunist DeRay? Where are all the celebs who are always outraged when a cop kills a black man? Black lives matter full circle, not just when a cop is the killer. I’m honestly far more scared of my own killing me than some rogue officer.
But “they” don’t hear you though…
I love bourbon street, night life.
In not from there, or live there, my guy friend use to live there . He keeps afloat on all things happening
Too many people, too hot, too much traffic but it’s my hometown. Ms Keisha??? What’s the plan? You took to the airwaves to speak out against mistreated illegals, but whatchagone do bout this crime?
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes honey, and they’re generous with the liquor (you know this is a family blog) lmbo…………..
Exactly,.they be blowing the Fck outta me always talking about the killings in Chicago this Shit is going on everywhere not just in my city!..
Yes.
LOL I can only choose one. LOL
Didn’t he just plead guilty to supplying alcohol nothing to do with the rape.
Please the crime went up in Atlanta after Hurricane Katrina and never went back down. God bless the families
They killing down here in Montgomery Alabama, and it’s not just in the black communities either.
I will take note thank you! Its funny because I had Ginos and Pats on the list. lol
YASS! Thank you!
Thank you for the idea. Off to google them now.
lol and I was going to move to the south (Atlanta) sounds like I would be jumping out the frying pan into the fire! be careful VA has a huge Heroin and gang problem.
Ole the shade! lmao!
They moved into our beautiful apartments in Duluth and they were so nasty and trifling we moved?
This is why I stay my yellow/black ass in Dunwoody.I don’t go to the south side, east side or west side.
You are still black hon. Lol
I am so glad I didnt stay in ATL long. It was becoming to much.
I am so, so sorry…
God bless you and your family. I’m so sorry that a mother has to feel that type of pain.
David Duke, is that you?
Trying to get this through my sons head…..ain’t enough love in the hood to ensure your safety.
LOL.. I’m a born and raised New Yorker.. why do you think it’s so safe?
Smdh. They’re slowly but SURELY progressing toward making living unbearable and impossible.
I can walk the streets at night and feel safe we’re not robbing and killing each other to many cops
Parenting is a full time and fully sacrificial job. What i’ve seen is parents who gave their children stable homes with love, but absolutely NO teaching, no foresight, no nothing. I, by no means, deserve the Perfect Parent Award. But we busted our a$$es to TEACH ours – and STILL dealt with some very wayward ways from some of our kids.
SMH…..you just can’t bring kids into this world all willy nilly nowadays – you gotta be prepared to give them FULL attention, to teach/correct at EVERY turn IN a two parent home accompanied by a ridiculous amount of prayer.
Crime is all over the metro area sis…
if you think about it, this is nothing new. remember they “discovered” America (even though the Natives were already living here), LOL!!!
and new orleans.
That statement about Chicago is false so try again.
West Philly been on rampage for a while now, that’s why I get so surprised when I see white folk on 60th and collowhill walking they dogs…lol
I know boo… Yellow/black ass
Well i’ve been in Dunwoody 12 years and it’s been good…knock on wood
I watch NYC news too …it’s bad there too
Nope not like Georgia
I’m on the South Side things have been relatively quiet over here, but as they continue to build I’ve noticed the crime increasing. Regardless of where I go North Side, East Side West Side or South Side I’m on alert.
I know that damn city of South Fulton is always on the news ever since they incorporated.
Yes honey they’re bold asf, speaking of Callowhill I was born and raised off that Jim’s at 62nd st hell I might go get a steak when I get off yummy…
Word- for the number of people there is- public transportation should be like Metro in D.C. or MTA (NYC) but MARTA is privately owned
scratchem boo don’t waste ya time unless you wanna just take a pic lol
??
I’m from D.C. and moved to ATL in 2001. It’s too expensive there ..where I grew up, a 1 bdrm is 2000-3000/month
I don’t think they choose too I think that where they where born at and funneled in that direction by white supremscist
Media street until we moved to Lower Merion. I went to Jims last night everybody wanted cheese steaks and I just got back from walking the dog so I got the job…lol But they were closed it was too hot for all them folks in that store…lol
I hear you. I walked those streets at all hours and didn’t think twice about it. I ain’t doing that here.
Nah go to Jims on South Street
I’m in McDonough. Fulton is no joke.
Media street LOL I grew up on 61st & Lansdowne , I’m sure we’ve crossed paths. Lower Merion was the best move hands down the hood can’t afford to move there. I moved to NE 14 yrs ago and everybody from NP is moving up here like folks from wp n swp did moving to Upper Darby. I’m like honey I’m tired of shootouts, robberies etc.. with gentrification we can’t win. It’s sad some of our folks need to change our mentality, they feel like we’re selling out no we’re not there is nothing wrong with wanting better for yaself.
yeah, i know ALL about northern virginia. that’s home for real (only been in MD about 10 years). that MS13 activity is NOT prevalent in my old neighborhood – the most dangerous element is yt women with strollers and their leashless mutts, LOL!
oh yeah – you on the way south side LOL..OTP.
Lmao…IKR!!
Me too..peace n quiet.
I said THE EXACT SAME THING. Prior to Katrina we never had smash and grabs..they moved here and every week they were smashing n grabbing.. it’s sad but true
First of all….Never do that again…ain’t nothing, I mean not a damn thing CHI about Atlanta. Please don’t compare Chicago to Atlanta when we are 3X bigger than that little southern spot. And for the record. You have to rate GUN CRIMES and HOMICIDES by per capita…..to be fair…the bigger the city the higher the numbers. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/62d4f86be952b1f6ae82d91baa6be26ac45ca0df9baceb976980fb1e5d786ac4.png
I miss Dunwoody ?. I HATE living on the south side with my yellow/black arse too. Unfortunately, changes in my career had to change my residential situation.
Oh no. Not in The A.
I swear I have whiplash because I stay on alert.
I’m in Fulton County always have been in the City.
?????? It ain’t safe! You try and break in my ish? I’m probably shooting first and asking questions later. ?????
Black people hypocrites bruh. The sooner you realize this the better off you’ll be mentally. It used to bother me trying to figure my people out but Ive come to realize that despite what we claim we love guns, drugs, violence, pimps, hoes, materialism, failure in school, illiteracy, dysfunctional families, baby daddy/mama drama and just drama in general. Black culture has been hijacked by hood culture.
Look at our popular music and movies. Look at our “communities” or lack thereof. Even the educated amongst us choose to call each other n words and b words instead of kings and Queens. We lost homie.
Welcome to my world. I have to take my weapon everywhere I go. I had to unzip my “purse” on the bus today. I thought it was about to go down.
McDonough is Henry County. Most parts of Henry County are pretty safe. I’d stay clear of Clayton County though, if I were you. Seems like a disproportionate number of crimes I see on the
6 o’clock news are from there.
I’m with you I keep my ass in Buford Mall of GA and go to work by Emory…
We may be homo-Lanta but not chi-lanta
This is definitely the hood….i went to some apartments off Delmar ln to see a client and my ass did not go back i was so afraid bc the apartments and neighborhood was deplorable. I stay about 10 minutes off campcreek and my neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. I have great neighbors and an awesome community!!
I went to New Orleans for the Essence Festival last week, I felt safe. I stayed at a hotel on Canal St. It doesn’t matter where you visit, just be careful and aware of your surroundings. I don’t do Bourbon St. at night, too crowded

I’m sorry…damn
I’m sorry…damn
The hood.. stay away… I live on the nice side of w/ S. Fulton and I do everything away from where I live. G43 goes with me EVERYWHERE, except the bathroom…
Me too.. Adamsville…smh
That’s because they dont report the good. If you live in certain parts, it’s relatively safe.. Now, down by east point border or old Natl… another story
off Camp Creek is pretty nice, I agree. Unfortunately when you’re just a stones throw away from foolishness, it’ll eventually make its way to the awesome communities. I’m a victim.
Took the words out of my mouth…
Damn…
You said that. I agree. When one of my cars was stolen from my driveway, I’m positive no white person came to take it. Like you, I’m always more concerned with sm1 black committing a crime towards me before any other race or group of people.
I’ve lived around Mexicans and they’ll beat tf outta each other, drink, rooster fests on the porch, but they didn’t bother me either. No lie.
You mean the black men raised by single black moms
I thought it was the “town too busy to hate.”
Definitely. Big changes, and not for the better.
…just thinking. I’ve never had a problem in the Atlanta area with a stranger and i’ve been GA friendly for 25+ yrs. But i mind my business and probably don’t have shit folks want either. …lol. Look at God.
The commenters above was saying that the people who were placed in Atlanta after katrina is responsible for the madness thats going on there now.
Dag that’s sad, i wonder what happened to big freedia’s brother adam. He seemed s9 cool
That is true! I pray it doesn’t!!
Adamsville is not as worst as some other hoods
I say it all the time. 5 folks were killed on the holiday in Cleveland.
Cleveland was acting up last week too.
Hugs
Condolences
Prayers
Auntie I’m so sorry this occured.
So do I
Who told you that?!
I live in East Atlanta. Crime isn’t that bad here. And with gentrification pushing everyone to the outskirts, the crime will likely get significantly worse outside of the perimeter
??????????????????????
This is sad on so many levels. When will we stop
They both wack onions hard af and and seem racist to me go to ishkabibbles or Jim’s on south
??? keep up the good work
The shopping center that they are building scares me. I just see a lot of crime coming with that.
Wherever you are in the Atlanta area stay alert because no place is safe
She’ll get back to you on that currently she has to deal with all of the dirt bikers
Yes I’m over here with T.I. trying to fight the guard, but I keep my eyes open wide because we live in a crazy world
Where I live the crime rate is ZERO. I’m deep in McDonough..been living in McDonough 4 years now. We leave our doors unlocked, cars still running while we’re in the store, it’s safe out here.
“you mismanaged your post sir”, “I own property on this property” lol so many quotables in that audio clip .
Yeah there are 2 sides to Decatur.
Yes there are two sides to Decatur. However, I don’t live in Decatur. I live in East Atlanta. They are different
Oh yes I know there’s a difference. I know gentrification is in both areas.. look at Kirkwood.
East ATL ain’t much better. All those break ins and carjackings over there. You just see more white ppl?????
Just moved from McDonough to Norcross. Two areas where the police are no joke. These areas being reported are known for being dangerous. Cops in the actual city of ATL are more reactive than proactive
U live in East Atlanta or Decatur?
Lived in east atlanta for a year. My ex is still out there
Went to school and worked in Decatur on/off
Why do we hate each other so much? At this point, we have out murdered ourselves, between murders and abortions we got killing off the blacks agenda taken care of. No need to fear the white man. We are our worst enemies
Yes T.I. needs to just calm down and understand that he has to follow the same rules as everyone else.
I like Mcdonough and feel safe here, but as stated I’m always on alert. The crime is slowly but surely increasing and will only get worse with all of the development going on.
People sound so stupid saying stay out the hood. Hate, jealousy greed and envy isn’t just in a HOOD IT’S ON YOUR JOB YOUR HOUSE AND THE LAST PLACE WILL ALWAYS BE your hood, take notes. Atlanta is big but hey so is hate let’s be real
LOL?…That stone throw away is right on Market Place and Washington Rd.
Dunwoody? OH YOU FANCY HA
40 -50 minute drive from downtown, no marta = no niggas, big city amenities and some outlet stores. I think you are smart enough to get in Cornell. ????
I use to go ONLY in the morning before 10am to the Walmart on Cleveland. FYI folks NEVER go to Trapmart on MLK blvd.
LOL I rented a condo in Buckhead before I bought my house out here. I stayed in Buckhead during the club district -it was fun. Glad I got to Dunwoody before the boom- the school district is def pushing rent and home values up.

I am sitting here stunned ?. Just Wow. Didn’t he tell the guard that he paid his salary? ????
The guard was fired after T.I.’s shenanigans.
That used to be a common slogan – maybe in the 1990s. Things change. It probably wasn’t even true back then.
