Beyonce SELF magazine

SELF magazine is urging women to empower themselves by listening to Beyonce during their abortions. The advice was included in an article titled "15 Ways to Mentally and Physically Prepare for Your Abortion Procedure".

#1 on SELF magazine's empowering list is "Educate yourself about your abortion options..."

SELF mag suggests considering "medical abortion" or the morning after "abortion pill", since, “It seems less clinical because you're taking medications that mimic a natural miscarriage,” according to ob/gyn Sara Imershein, M.D., M.P.H.

Way down the list is #11: "Ask your health center if you can bring earbuds to listen to something during a surgical abortion".

"If you’re going to be awake during a surgical abortion and want relaxation or distraction, listening to something might be helpful... Or maybe you’re looking for something more stereotypically empowering, Aebi says, adding, “You can stream Beyoncé before, during, and after your procedure if you want."

What's more empowering than telling the guy who knocked you up:

You must not know 'bout me
You must not know 'bout me
I could have another you in a minute
Matter fact he'll be here in a minute, baby

  • Geezy

This is all DEMONIC. Beyonce is not a cure for all. "Empowering" women and young girls to murder their children while listening to a blasphemous God hater is indeed encouraging. Yeah...ok. Lord, take over!

    Ditto. I'm speechless.

    As fawk

  • CocoBabe88

I mean the article is discussing abortion. Nothing shocking. But why they had to throw Beyonce’s name in the mix is the weird part. I wouldn’t consider Beyoncé’s music “relaxing.” Some meditation or ambient music seems more appropriate. I hate the need to politicize abortion like it’s some women’s empowerment thing. It’s a medical procedure- plain and simple.

  • jeniefrumdabloc™

Already has that one will fall.. . ?

Too white washed on the cover.. come on Bey lol

  • Cap

Beyonce... the same Beyonce who suffered a miscarriage because of the stress coming from her cheating husband’s music should be played to comfort women who’re having abortions..... what women need to do after abortions is get counseling and whatever else help they may need because it’s an emotional, mental and physical thing. Listening to Beyoncé while stripping your womb isn’t going to do anything. Going through it, recovering and getting counseling will.

Then when you’re feeling better, if you wanna feel like a bad b, listen to Megan thee Stallion. She’s a Houston native too. But all of this is weird as fawk and I’m not here for it

  • Juslv374

This is beyond evil, sick and disgusting. Killing innocent babies like it's no big deal, talking about how enpowered somebody should feel? Smh The judgement of God is coming! Idc, who is offended, it doesn't change the facts. #LastDays

  • OvertheMississippi

    Yeah, pretty much. Local anestheis.

  • Logan Roberts

So a woman is suppose to listen to get in formation while getting an abortion? wtf

  • Bdot

  • Uniquely Made

Lol now that is not what they said. They said, "You can stream Beyoncé before, during, and after your procedure (IF YOU WANT).”

Meaning you have a choice to listen to whatever you want to. They used her name to get clicks and get their procedure noticed.

  • TheOwley

Abortions are empowering. That's Margaret Sanger's dream.

#1 on SELF magazine’s empowering list is “Educate yourself about your abortion options…”

How about education yourself in how not to get pregnant in the first place.
    The world is upside down.

  • free

    oh lawd!!!

  • Goodii2Shoes

Exactly. * note: I'm one of those ppl trying to teach the next generation how to catch that thang& coach my generation on how to do better handoffs.

Just community social work , not mother Theresa or the dali lama

  • Goodii2Shoes

If you're streaming beyawnce & 'nem while getting a surgical abortion , I appreciate you for taking the time to spare the earth.

**sidebar: Hi, Anna, I see why Condé is 100m in the red, doll. You old heads have to do a better job of retiring & succession planning. Bye, Anna.xoxo
    *O, here's that free advising.

  • Goodii2Shoes

Sanger was a goofy. I've read/heard her ideas & while I believe in contraception & the right to choose, Sanger sounded like a gleeful slutwalker feminist & not a woman respecting motherhood & the female power to give life.

  • TheOwley

Goofy? Sorry, that's a character in Disney, there is nothing lighthearted about that devil. Amongst her many demonic attributes, she did not want any black fetuses to see the light of day, ever, so much so that she created Planned Parenthood. She is revered and worshipped by all liberals never the less.

  • Goodii2Shoes

I wasn't referencing Goofy, the beloved Disney character . "A goofy" is slang for an inferior person .

  • Goodii2Shoes

.....yeah, I watched the wtf vid by the stallion ... it's exactly what I imagined. Another readily exploitable "artist" I could see harvey weenstein replacing the other black female "entertainers" around him with to continue his ongoing legacy of pedophilia & exploitation of anyone he points at in exchange for a video/check/car (anything & everything they can't get on their own) while smiling for the cameras & following that red carpet prostituted protocol normal for his kind of celebrity.

  • Cap

You feel she’s easily exploitable? Do you mind explaining why? I know her image is based around sex, and women being confident. She reminds me of Nicki Minaj but with a more dominant voice, less ridiculous looks, and less corny songs. And she has a Houston sound because she’s from here

  • SandraRose

What part of this post is anti-abortion?

  • TheOwley

I know what you were saying. She felt threatened and used her position in society to successfully created an organization to terminate black babies. There was time black women would never. Now it's everyone which is ok for many since the goal is to get rid of people and the people they are having.

  • ShadesofEMPRESS

Abortions are sick and they are murder. Stop having sex if you cant wear some protection. Damn!

  • dontgetblocked

I try to leave the choice up to a woman but some women use abortion like its birth control. It's not birth control....It's murder!

  • Goodii2Shoes

.... black, southern, wants to be seen as too cute/ inspiring jealousy (based on lyrical&video content only), & lyrics to that one song exhibit what I consider "standard" lyrics of the types of women who are easily exploited in the entertainment business. (No surprise she reminds u of icki minaj). However, I said "readily exploitable " & by readily exploitable I mean she would be easy pickings for the entertainment industry slavers who trade cars&chex for supremely questionable activities that are tightly kept bts secrets. She has a stripperish vibe & strippers r popular choices as entertainment business slaves bc of their lifestyle choices & insecurities that make them willing to continue to engage in things they hope will lift them to whatever level they're aspiring to while knowing it's all a coke dream waiting for reality/truth to crumble them. Let a harvey weinstein or shawn carter or antonio reid approach them (or any similar minded ppl) with compliments & offers, those types will not only not be literate enuff to understand their contracts but also too fame hungry/drugged up on their own ego to be anything more than industry pawns. On stage they're rappers/singers/actors etcs but bts they are just sex workers, working & trying to make it & trying to not be exposed for their shady entertainment industry activities....

&blacks hv bcom the go to slaves bc they're easily exploited with a coke dream or kilo & the feeling of being a part of some inner secret circle. The illuminati mess is popularized by black culture to keep open opportunities to exploit ppl who think they can gain from this secret cult or perpetuate fear of the cult in order to control the easily exploited. The readily exploited usually don't want much anyway (a car, some cash, coke, pretty pic, cute chick...all things easily available to the slavers.)

  • Junkanoo

Oh for crying out loud you can't be pro life without being anti poverty and anti many things that have so many kids in poverty globally

  • ?? Kari ?????????

    Self is a garbage ragmag.

  • Coy little wink

Abortion is an extremely polarizing topic...the fact that you posted such a nonsensical article regarding it makes me think you are anti abortion. My comment was not about the post was about your personal views and you didn't answer my question

  • Logan Roberts

Bey you have looked way better on magazine covers, who approved this pic?

  • TheyDontHearMeTho

Wtf...what in the ritual sacrifice is this?!

  • Goodii2Shoes

I'm from the era whr abortions are normal medical procedures. Two of my 14 & 15 yr old high school classmates had them freshman/sophomore year & it was considered a smart move so I have no memory of it being anything other than a normal procedure to remove an unwanted pregnancy. .. Sanger did seem like just a hate filled white woman, jealous of black fertility ... I'm ready to go back & read her old interviews/whatever & see if my perception of her has changed since I've heard so many people say planned parenthood is racist & unethical (selling aborted fetuses). I thought they serviced more white women than anyone else. .. but maybe I'm basing that on the white communities I've seen their business in... I haven't really seen them in predominantly black neighborhoods but as typing this I realized they were in communities where white women were impregnated by non whites/mainly blacks at a very high rate tho... so maybe that part

  • TheOwley

I am from an era where women respected their bodies and taught 14 and 15 year old girls to do the same. It's not about availability of abortion or who is aborting, it's about the way we raise our young women today.

It's a societal decline and we fall back on abortion to take care of unintended consequences. I'm not being optimistic Pollyanna here, just reminiscing on the idea where black girls and women's line of thinking was based more self respect and esteem. Today that logic has failed not only black women, but all women in general where abortion is now a wholesale process as opposed to what Sanger intended it to be.

  • Goodii2Shoes

    Ur so right.

  • TheOwley

Yes, just take the blue pill and go to sleep. <>

  • TheOwley

Throwing Beyonce in is obviously intended to connect with black women. Latinas that need relaxation while aborting can just listen to J-Lo to feel empowered, and so on. Walk out of there with a t-shirt that says abortion is empowering. They know what they are doing.

  • Cap

I see where you’re coming from

  • Goodii2Shoes

I dnt rly care tho. @this point I ignore bishes, laugh at their bs&avoid fucboi industry nxggas/ruin their lives if they're unhappy with me just ignoring them &their pettiness
