Radio DJ and Twitter personality Charlamage tha god canceled his interview with Kanye West. The interview was part of The New York Times’ “Times Talk” live series held at theaters in NYC.
Ctg pretended to have a change of heart about interviewing Kanye, saying the interview “would not be productive” because Kanye was dealing with his own mental health struggles.
In reality, Kanye is still in Africa, and he probably isn’t eager to jet back to the U.S. to be exploited for ratings by Charlamagne.
The troubled DJ wrote in an Instagram post:
“Normalizing being mentally healthy is a conversation that I really wanted to have with Kanye because he’s been so vocal about his own mental health struggles. Unfortunately I think to have that conversation with him right now would not be productive and a total distraction from the point of the convo which is to eradicate the stigma of mental health especially in the black community.”
Charlamagne’s Instagram followers called him out on his hypocrisy. Many of his followers noted that Kanye canceled the interview because he is in Africa.
