Rickey Smiley has been hospitalized since Monday for undisclosed reasons. In an Instagram video posted on Wednesday, the 50-year-old comedian and radio personality updated his followers from his hospital bed.
“Bruh, I’ve been in the hospital since Monday. I don’t know what the hell is going on,” he said in the video.
Rickey captioned the video:
“I’ve been in the hospital since Monday, and December has been a rough, rough, rough month. Thank you for your well wishes. #JesusIsMyDoctor”.
In the video he wears a hospital gown and a scrub cap. He paused several times to do breathing exercises using a Spirometer, a medical instrument that measures the amount of air volume a patient inhales.
Rickey, who was born Broderick “Rickey” Smiley, is host of the nationally syndicated Rickey Smiley Morning Show based in Atlanta. He is also host of the Rickey Smiley For Real reality TV show on TV One. He is best known for his prank phone calls to unsuspecting radio listeners.
