Music mogul Brian “Birdman” Williams and songbird Toni Braxton are back on the market in the New Year. Birdman and Toni Braxton announced their break up on social media on New Year’s Day.
According to Page Six, the two unfollowed each other and each posted their goodbyes on social media.
Birdman, 49, wrote, “It’s over” on his Instagram story, while Braxton was more poetic, writing:
“Starting a new chapter isn’t alway an easy choice…
but ALWAYS choose to be chosen.
Cheers to a new year.”
The break up comes after Braxton “lost” her pricey engagement ring that Birdman gave her. She claims the jewelry was stolen from her Louis Vuitton luggage at the airport.
But who leaves a $1 million engagement ring in her luggage? Someone who needs a quick infusion of cash from an insurance payout?
Birdman had a rough year financially. Court documents shows his Miami Beach mansion was repossessed after he failed to repay a $12 million loan he took out using the manse as collateral.
Birdman’s gold and platinum records were seized when a Miami judge ordered the 7-bed, 11-bath, 20,000 sq. ft. property turned over to the court in 2018.
Birdman also has tax troubles to contend with in 2019. His money problems didn’t leave much of an opportunity for Toni to floss and show off the things he bought her. Word is she didn’t even get a Christmas gift from the Cash Money Records co-founder.
Poor Toni. At age 51, it will be difficult for her to catch the eye of wealthy ballers who tend to favor younger women of childbearing age.
