A New York woman who was reported missing Monday night was found dead in a New Jersey home on Tuesday. Paula Chin’s body was found in a garbage bag beside other trash in the garage of a home in Morristown, New Jersey, according to a NYPD spokesperson.
Chin, 65, went missing Monday night after arguing with her son, Jared Eng, 22, over money. Eng was arrested and charged with concealment of a corpse. Also charged were two women, Caitlyn O’Rourke, 21, and Jennifer Lopez, 18.
NBC NY reports that Eng and O’Rourke were dating.
Investigators believe Chin was killed in her lower Manhattan apartment before her body was transported by car to New Jersey. Police say her throat appeared to be slashed.
Chin owned the Manhattan building where she lived with her two sons in an apartment on the third floor.
A neighbor told police Chin also owned the New Jersey home where her body was found.
According to PEOPLE, police are working on getting warrants to search the apartment building and the car that was used to transport her body across state lines.
