Cynthia Bailey’s ex-husband Peter Thomas was released from a Miami jail on Wednesday after resolving the check fraud issue that led to his arrest last Friday.
Thomas, 58, who occasionally makes cameo appearances on RHOA, was taken into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant from Louisiana after he got off a flight at Miami International Airport.
He was wanted for allegedly writing a $4,000 check to a Louisiana man that bounced.
E! News reported Thomas was released Wednesday after his attorney delivered a $4,000 check to the man to resolve the issue.
“It was an unfortunate misunderstanding. There was no intent on Mr. Thomas part to not pay,” Thomas’ attorney, Keith Doley, told E! News. “There was a misunderstanding about a performance that didn’t happen. It’s all been resolved.”
Doley said the St. John the Baptist Parish District Attorney will not pursue charges against Thomas.
Soon after his release, Thomas took to Instagram to savor his freedom.
“Hey Instagram world. I can not sleep because I’m still (expletive) up over the last six days,” Thomas said. “But you know what? Feels so blessed to be in my bed tonight. That I can get up and go to the shower, restroom, the refrigerator, the balcony to go look outside, and I don’t have to ask permission to.”
Thomas owns multiple clubs in Charlotte, North Carolina and one in Miami’s South Beach.
