Despite reports that slain rapper Nipsey Hussle was worth over $200 million when he was killed, his brother says his estate is only worth about $2 million.
Nipsey’s brother, “Blacc Sam” Asghedom, has asked a court to put him in charge of his late brother’s estate. The hip-hop star’s estate is worth over $2 million, The Blast reports.
According to a petition filed by Blacc Sam, he needs to take control of his late brother’s affairs to take advantage of “time-sensitive” business opportunities.
Ermias “Nipsey Hussle” Asghedom, 33, was gunned down by a fellow gang banger in March.
Sam writes that Nipsey’s “passing has created significant media attention, which, in turn has presented potential time-sensitive business opportunities based on [Nipsey Hussle]’s likeness, right of publicity, and other intellectual property based on the media attention surrounding [Nipsey Hussle]’s exceptional life story and musical career.”
Earlier this week, Nipsey’s Marathon Clothing store closed its doors to the public amid customer complaints that their orders were late or never received.
