A Florida man is in stable condition at a local hospital after his girlfriend’s husband severed his genitals with a pair of scissors.
Police say 49-year-old Alex Bonilla broke into his neighbor’s Bell Flower, Fl. home on Sunday. He held the man at gunpoint and tied him up before cutting off the man’s penis with a pair of scissors, according to ABC 11. He then fled with the appendage so it couldn’t be reattached by surgeons.
Deputies from the Gilchrist County Sheriff’s Office responded to the home just before noon after receiving a call of an armed burglary.
“It was determined that the suspect had broken into the residence and the victim had been held at gunpoint, tied up, taken to a different room and mutilated by the intruder,” according to a police report.
Bonilla was arrested hours later and charged with aggravated assault. He told police that after he severed the man’s genitals, he took the appendage back across the street to his own house.
Deputies said the motive is still under investigation, though an arrest report stated Bonilla caught his wife and the unidentified victim having sex in May.
