Hollywood is desperate for a blockbuster hit to save the summer box office. Unfortunately, the much-anticipated “Jumanji: The Next Level” won’t be it.

“Jumanji: The Next Level” is the sequel to 2017’s box office hit “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black.

The main stars return, but the twist is revealed when veteran funny man Danny DeVito and veteran actor Danny Glover are added to the cast as young Spencer’s grandpa and his geriatric friend respectively.

Young Spencer (Alex Wolff) tinkers with an old Jumanji game cartridge and the thing short circuits, transporting him into the game – while the vintage 1958 hit single “It’s All in the Game” by Tommy Edwards plays in the background.

Anyone who touches the cartridge will join him inside the game.

Kevin Hart now portrays grandpa Danny DeVito (“Did I die, and turn into some kind of small muscular boy scout?”).

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is grandpa Danny Glover. And Jack Black, who was a teenage girl in “Welcome to the Jungle,” is now Fridge’s avatar (formerly played by Kevin Hart).

Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, based on the 1995 original film, Jumanji, starring Robin Williams, grossed nearly $1 billion in worldwide box office sales in 2017.

“Jumanji: The Next Level” also stars Madison Iseman, Nick Jonas, Dania Ramirez, and Awkwafina.
