Lizzo performed her hit songs “Truth Hurts”, “Juice”, and more on The Today’s Show‘s Citi Summer Concert Series at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City on Friday, Aug. 23. Thousands braved the drizzling rain to watch Lizzo perform. Friday’s crowd was the largest of 2019 for the Today Show’s summer concert series.
The 31-year-old Detroit native arrived in style in the back seat of a vintage droptop 1968 Pontiac Bonneville. She wore black & white pajamas with a purple duster. Later she changed into a sparkly gold bodysuit over a purple bra with matching eye shadow and lip gloss, as she performed hits from her acclaimed album Cuz I Love You.
Lizzo shared her self-help tips to maintain a healthy emotional attitude.
“I practice self-love. I look in the mirror and say, ‘I love you. You’re beautiful. You can do anything.’ Tell yourself that on your happy days so that you have the strength to tell yourself that on your darker days. Reaching out to people when you’re depressed is really hard; I would shut myself away from friends and family. So I’ve been working on communicating with the people who love me.”
