During a press conference to announce his lucrative deal with the NFL on Wednesday, rap mogul Jay-Z blinked rapidly when a reporter asked him if he would kneel or stand during the National Anthem. Some of my readers expressed skepticism and demanded to see video of Jay-Z blinking rapidly.
The 50-year-old rap mogul was caught off guard by the question: “I’m sorry to put it this way, but if the National Anthem were playing, would you kneel or stand?”
“I think we’re past kneeling. I think it’s time to go into actionable items,” Jay-Z responded.
Jay-Z came under fire for not including retired NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick in his deal with the NFL. Kaepernick settled a discrimination lawsuit with the league, but he has expressed a desire to get back out on the field.
Jay-Z said he still supports Kaepernick, but there is money to be made.

Brooklyn is one of the largest boroughs in New York and have always been diverse. As for the section in Brooklyn Bed-Stuy where Jay Z is from within the past few years the neighborhood has changed dramatically because of outside investors. How can we possibly be outraged at them when our very own didn’t care enough to invest or build the neighborhood back then? I can speak on this topic because I grew up in that neighborhood and not far from where Jay Z used to live and sell his drugs to torment the community. At some point of any protest to get results you have to start collecting signatures for “a bill” and then team with powerful lawmakers to help push it into law. Kneeling is a start but it has not stopped the killings.

He’s full of it. We all knew the injustice because it was world news. Kaepernick didn’t kneel to make people aware. He kneeled due to the conflict of pledging allegiance to a flag that does not represent FREEDOM AND JUSTICE FOR ALL.

The problem with the NFL is that it infringed upon a players freedom to honor and represent justice for people of color. His actions were peaceful (non disruptive and non violent) and he got blackballed. Kaepernick not having a job is a problem. Jay Z supported him when it was convenient.
