Lizzo wants delivery drivers to know she will fight for her grilled sandwiches, pizza and super size drink. The morbidly obese singer/rapper took to Twitter.com to roast a Postmates driver for allegedly stealing her food.
The “Truth Hurts” singer called out the driver on Monday, tweeting: “Hey @Postmates this girl Tiffany W. stole my food. she lucky I don’t fight no more.”
Postmates responded quickly, apologizing to the 31-year-old star. Some Twitter users sided with Lizzo, but others criticized her for “snitching” on a minimum wage food service worker.
“Jesus. This poor girl is going to get fired and then hunted down. Come on, Lizzo,” tweeted one user.
Another user tweeted: “So you’ve publicly shamed someone who works in the service industry… you’ve nearly a million twitter followers… and you’ve now DMd their employer who will likely sack the individual you shamed publicly after accusing her of theft when you don’t actually know what happened.”
Lizzo didn’t share any details of the food theft.
An inside source told Page Six that the delivery person waited for five minutes and wasn’t able to reach the “Juice” singer, so she left.
The hungry star later apologized for her hasty rebuke of the driver on a public forum.
“I apologize for putting that girl on blast. I understand I have a large following and that there were so many variables that could’ve put her in danger. Imma really be more responsible with my use of social media and check my petty and my pride at the door.”
